Day 4954: Without You

Without you, I couldn’t do this daily blog.

Without you, I wouldn’t be taking photos like the first one I took yesterday.

.

Without you, I wouldn’t be sharing this excerpt from the fabulous musical City of Angels, which I saw with my fabulous friends Janet and Ray yesterday and which includes the song “I’m Nothing Without You.”

.

Without you, there’s no reason to share all these other images for today.

.

Without you, this precious day just wouldn’t be the same.

Without you, I wouldn’t be as grateful as I am.

Day 4872: Spend time on what matters most

When I returned to work yesterday to spend time on what matters most to me (group therapy), I saw this sign at the hospital.

.

Now, let’s spend time on what matters most in my images for today.

Every new day, I resolve to spend time on what matters most.
I’m going to spend time reading this book that matters by my friend and recent traveling companion Janet Raye Stevens (who also writes under the name Evie Kelley).
I’m going to spend less time on captions for the rest of this blog post.

.

Here’s what I find when I spend time searching YouTube for “spend time on what matters most.”

.

I spend time on what matters most, like expressing gratitude to those who matter most, including YOU!

Day 4868: Ready to Go

Yesterday, I was ready to go home, so I took this photo at the Barcelona airport.

.

After a wonderful vacation in Spain with beloved friends (including author Janet Raye Stevens), I am ready to go back to work, which tells me I love being a group therapist and a songwriter.

Are we ready to go to my other images for today?

The Uber driver and I sang songs when we were ready to go to the airport and he showed me his USA-related tattoos.
Michael was ready to go visit his son and grandchildren in Boston and he was ready to go listen to my songs after we spoke before boarding the plane.
I was ready to go up into the wild blue yonder!
I was ready to go share some memories with the sweet guy who sat next to me during the seven-hour flight.
I was ready to go back home, even though the weather was rainy in Boston.

.

Here’s my song about being ready to go.

.

Now I’m ready to go have fun on a beautiful Friday near Boston!

.

Thanks to all who help me get ready to go every morning, including YOU.

Day 4866: Heroes

As my time in Barcelona is winding toward a close, I am choosing to spend time with personal heroes, including amazing architect Antoni Gaudí and friends old and new.

Can you see heroes in my images for today?

Here are my friends Janet (who heroically writes wonderful books) and her heroic husband Ray, who were heroically trying to meet my longing for an architectural tour of Barcelona.
Ray, acting as tour guide, told me that this heroic monument was related to a mall being constructed that went horribly wrong. Janet heroically disagreed and said it was a salute to LEGOS
My heroic husband Michael, who heroically cooks amazing meals for me, would LOVE the fresh fish and produce in Barcelona.
People who embrace change are heroes of mine.
Gaudí used heroically unconventional design methods, including working from scale models.
My new friend birthday girl Dedra, who is a hero for working in behavioral health.
William, me, and Dedra — three behavioral health heroes vacationing in Barcelona!

.

On World Wish Day I hope that all my heroes get their wishes met in this world. .

Here’s a YouTube video about Barcelona’s hero Gaudí:

.

Thanks to all my heroes, including YOU!

Day 4538: Titles

When I was on the train to NYC, I shared some of my song titles with people I’d just met. They told me they did NOT like my title “I’d Like to Win the Grammy for Best New Artist.” When I sang them the song, they changed their minds.

Here’s the song with that title:

.

The title of yesterday’s blog post was “Decisions, decisions.” One of the decisions, decisions I’ve been struggling with for over a year is whether the audio from that song (and all the other songs I performed at the venue with the title “Lilypad”) are good enough for release to Spotify or whether I need to record them again.

Title me “Unsure” and “Ambivalent.”

In the meantime, I started writing a new song yesterday with the title “What’s Wrong with Looking Older?”

©️ Ann Koplow, 2025

.

I wonder what people are going to think about that title and that song.

My friend Janet’s new book has an interesting title.

.

I wrote Janet yesterday that her title was particularly apt because that volume really vanished: the wind had blown the delivery package under our Japanese Maple where it lay hidden for days. Janet replied, “Wow! I should’ve called it Gone With the Wind.”

How might you title my other images for today?

.

Title me grateful yesterday, today, and tomorrow for wonderful people like YOU.

Day 4477: Views

After enjoying spectacular views in Italy, I’m back in the USA, where a major part of the population does not share my views about the current administration.

Because I want to make sure I can view things clearly, I decided yesterday to get a new pair of glasses at Eye Look Optical in historic Lexington. Here are some of my views from there:

.

That’s Matt, who shares a lot of my views about people, priorities, and life, and who, in my view, was the best at helping me pick out a great pair of glasses.

Matt told me he would increase the views on my YouTube channel by playing my original song “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole” for other people. If anybody wants to view that now, here it is:

.

Here are some more views I experienced at Eye Look.

.

After trying on and choosing another pair of little red glasses, I told Matt he should view this recent Saturday Night Live skit.

.

I hope people don’t view me as a “very bad therapist.”

My friend Janet, who shared spectacular views in Italy with me, generously shared these views of my family members from Ancestry.com.

.

It’s great to view those pictures of loved ones. Thanks, Janet!

Here are the rest of the views for today’s blog:

.

I look forward to your views in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who view my blog, including YOU!

Day 4473: Fools

It’s April Fools’ Day! According to Jung, the Fool is the most evolved archetype. Or do you think I’m fooling about that?

That Fool might look like they’re going off a cliff, but they are clearly off on an exciting adventure. And unlike me, they didn’t overpack.

When I’m traveling, don’t speak the local language, and get too close to the edge, I might worry that I seem like a fool to others. But then I realize that I am no more a fool here than I am anywhere else.

I love that my Twitter (renamed “X” by some damn fool) friend Geanine Hudson said this about yesterday’s blog from Italy:

.

I’m not fooling when I say I feel seen by Geanine.

My friend Janet, who is no fool, wore a very cool t-shirt yesterday.

.

Janet writes wonderful books and I would be a fool not to link to her webpage.

Yesterday, on the trip from Venice to Arezzo, Janet’s husband Ray and I made fools of ourselves with texted fish puns.

.

I may feel a fool for doing the bare minnow-mum in fish-filled Venice, but I know I can always go back. And now we get to explore Arezzo!

.

Are there any fools to be found in my other images for today?

.

I have to remember that if I’m not always right, that doesn’t make me a complete fool.

Here’s what I find when I search for “fools” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who embrace their inner fools, to those who aren’t fooled by greedy and toxic liars, and to all my wonderful friends, including YOU!

Day 4388: What does RSV stand for?

Readers! Some Very Regardful and Sincere Visitors have Remarked — So Valuably — Real Sympathy, Verily, Regarding Symptoms Vented Regularly here Since my Vacation began on December 27.

Ready for Some Verification?

Yesterday, on a Readily Scheduled Visit to an urgent care facility, I found out I have Respiratory Syncytial Virus, commonly known as RSV, which explains why I’ve had such a Rotten Sucky Vacation, health-wise.

Because there is a Risk of Spreading said Virus, I will spend my first day back at work Remotely, Seeing Volumes of my Regular patientS, indiVidually and in group.

Ready for Some Very typical images I captured with RSV?

.

Really Some Variety, there.

Relevant, Short Video:

.

Really Sincere Voluminous thanks to all who are here for this what-does-RSV-stand-for? post, including YOU!

Day 4276: Let Your Light Shine

Yesterday morning, I was practicing Qigong with a YouTube video that ended with the instructor describing how to let your light shine into the universe.

Then, on a walk through my neighborhood, I saw this:

.

Later, I let my light shine by spending time with light-shining friends Janet and Ray at lunch and then a 50th anniversary showing of Mel Brooks’s Blazing Saddles.

Now I will try to let light shine with the other images I captured yesterday.

Letting your light shine, Daily Bitch style.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “let your light shine” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who let their light shine, including YOU!

Day 4174: Not to brag

Many of us have been taught not to brag.

Those teachings about not to brag often result in people putting themselves down for fear of being conceited or overstating their worth.

Not to brag, but I encourage people to brag about themselves, because I think that is much healthier than their usual self-deprecation.

Not to brag, but I did a concert of my original songs where I got a standing ovation and raised hundreds of dollars for Samaritans and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Not to brag, but my son wants to travel with me this summer, and we’re hoping to take a train trip across Canada.

Not to brag, but I captured all these images at home.

.

Not to brag, but I have some pretty cool eyewear.

Not to brag, but my friend Janet Raye Stevens — who is a fabulous writer whom I met at film school in the 1980s — sent me that photo after she attended my concert.

Here’s what I find when I search for “not to brag” on YouTube.

Not to brag, but I found a really good TED talk about bragging.

Not to brag, but many awesome people read this blog, including YOU!
