Day 5045: Needs

You might think that I’m smart enough to define “needs” on my own, but I did search for this definition.

.

In my Coping and Healing groups, I often ask people if they are getting their needs met. We also talk about balancing our needs with other people’s needs.

One of my needs (or wants?) is to find a solution for the annoying clicking noises I hear in my head whenever I speak. According to the nurse I saw yesterday, I need to use a concentrated saline solution twice a day for six months before the leading ENT doctor who specializes in Eustachian tube dysfunction will see me.

One of my needs is to know what medical treaters are really thinking, so I asked the nurse if she thought the doctor would be able to help me.

Sometimes we feel like we need certainty, but sometimes we don’t get it.

I need to prepare for my protest song performance on Tuesday, so I met with my EMDR therapist yesterday. I realized I needed a good answer to the question “Who do you think you are?”

Here’s the answer I need:

(Hands on hips) “I’m Ann Koplow, the Singing Therapist!”

Do you see needs in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for needs on YouTube.

.

Finally, I need to thank everyone who is reading this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 5044: Smart

I’m smart enough to define my terms at the beginning of a blog post.

.

Today, I’m hoping to see a smart nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital who works for a smart specialist who might be able to help me with the annoying clicking noises I’ve been hearing for over three years whenever I speak.

Nobody else I have seen has been smart enough to figure out how to make those noises stop.

Here are some of the smart notes I’m taking to the appointment with me.

.

It smarts that nobody has been smart enough to stop it yet but I am smart enough to know that I can still enjoy my life no matter what.

Let’s see what other smart images I have to share with you today.

.

On National Mole Day, I’m smart enough to remember that Avogadro’s number is 6.02 times 10 to the 23rd (but I’m not smart enough to know how to write 10²³ here without help from AI).

Let’s see what I find when I search for “smart” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all the smart people who are here for this smart post, including YOU!

Day 5043: Mortality

Mortality is

  • something I’ve thought about since I was young,
  • an important topic in therapy, and
  • the topic of many interesting quotes.

.

Do you see mortality in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for mortality on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are dealing with mortality, here and now, including YOU!

Day 5041: Speak Up

As I am preparing to speak up at a protest music teach-out next Tuesday and with my vote the Tuesday afterwards, I want to share this sign I saw yesterday near the hospital.

.

That sign to speak up inspired my question on social media last night.

.

Now it’s time to speak up with my other images for today.

.

National Call-In Day for Health Reform is another reason to speak up!

Here’s what I find when I search for “speak up” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who help me speak up, including YOU!

Day 5040: Evaluate Your Life Day

Today is Evaluate Your Life Day.

.

I’m evaluating my images for Evaluate Your Life Day, and I think they’re good enough.

.

Creating this blog allows me to evaluate my life every day.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “evaluate your life day.”

.

Thanks to all who here on Evaluate Your Life Day, including YOU!

Day 5039: Repairs

I’ve been making repairs to this blog and to relationships, as best I can.

I hope that the midterm elections in the USA will provide some repairs to the damage that has been done by the current administration.

Do you see repairs in my images for today?

.

When I look for “repairs” on YouTube I find this …

.

… and this.

.

Thanks to all who help repair this imperfect world, including YOU!

Day 5038: What I Can’t Find

Here and now, I can’t find the shirt I wanted to wear when I co-lead a workshop about Balint Groups at a conference today.

I don’t believe in ghosts, but I can’t find any other explanation of where that shirt might be.

There other things I can’t find, including

  • faith in government,
  • enthusiasm for things I don’t want to do, and
  • a good Mexican restaurant nearby.

What I can find are these images for today’s blog.

I can’t find a reason to participate in this study, even though I am living with atrial fibrillation/flutter.
At a team-building exercise at work yesterday, other people couldn’t find as many ways to fill in these circles.

I can always find cats, thank goodness.
I can’t find mac and cheese at the hospital cafeteria unless I’m there on a Friday.
I can’t find an explanation for this, but who cares?

.

Honestly, I can’t find the capacity to outrun anything these days.

However, I can find this video of my singing the song I wrote about Balint groups, which I’ll probably perform today if we can find the time.

.

I can’t find the words to express my gratitude to you, so this will have to do.

Day 5037: Ghosts

I was scared of ghosts until I had this conversation with my husband Michael.

Me: I’m afraid there might be a ghost in the basement.

Michael: You know that ghosts don’t exist, right?

Me: Oh.

Ever since then, I haven’t been scared of ghosts. I am fascinated by what people think about ghosts, though.

Let’s see if we can find any ghosts in my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I look for ghosts on YouTube:

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about ghosts?

Thanks to all who are here for my ghosts posts, including YOU!

Day 5036: Voting

On November 3, I’ll be voting blue no matter who.

.

Experts, as always, are predicting who will be voting and whom they’ll be voting for. We’ll see how the voting matches the predictions.

If I were to ask you to be voting for your favorite image in today’s post, which one would you be voting for?

.

That’s how I feel when I listen to some voting pundits.

Here’s what I find when I search for “voting” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are here for this voting post, including YOU!
