Day 4168: Helping others

Last night, after a very full day at my 50th college reunion where I witnessed many people helping others, I asked a question about helping others on Twitter.

Here are some of the answers about helping others:

Do you see helping others in my other images for today?

.

I find that when I’m helping others, there’s a lot in it for me. I hope to be helping others tomorrow when I give my concert of original songs, with proceeds going to Samaritans of Boston and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Here’s what I find when I search for “helping others” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are helping others, including YOU!

Day 4167: Personality traits

As I am attending my 50th college reunion and preparing for my concert on Saturday, I am having many opportunities to observe different personality traits.

One of my personality traits is to project into the future with worry, so I’m trying not to worry too much about my lack of time available to practice for Saturday. My videographer/producer Riccardo Pearlman, who has many wonderful personality traits, reminded me yesterday that “Your abilities are not fruit. They don’t go bad in a few days. If anything deloading that stuff from your brain will only make it better.”

What personality traits do you see in this extremely short post?

I’m so glad I get to hug my cat (who has great personality traits) on National Creativity Day.

Here’s what I find when I search for “personality traits” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who have personality traits I admire, including YOU!

Day 4166: What are you listening to?

What are you listening to? Your intuition? Other people’s opinions? Music? The sounds of nature?

Yesterday, I was listening to helpful words I encountered along my way.

.

Yesterday, at my 50th college reunion, I was listening to Jennifer G., who reads this blog every day and had many interesting thoughts to share.

I loved listening to wisdom from Jennifer and her traveling companion, Spot.

.

After to listening to my fellow classmates last night at a reunion dinner, I asked a what-are-you-listening-to question on Twitter.

.

.

What I’m listening to right now includes the playback from my dress rehearsal of original songs from last Sunday and also today’s calendars.

.

On National Senior Health & Fitness Day, I’ll be listening to some of my fellow seniors describe their experiences at my 50th reunion. Here‘s my blog post from the 45th reunion when I shared mine:

.

What are you listening to, here and now? I look forward to listening to your responses, below.

Thanks to all who are listening, including YOU.

Day 4165: Sleepless in Boston

I am sleepless in Boston because I’m excited about giving two concerts of my original songs this week and also attending my 50th college reunion.

Because I’m sleepless in Boston, I’ve been making more mistakes. For example, last night when I was trying to clean up my phone, I accidentally deleted two apps: Threads (a Twitter-like site) and another one I’m hoping isn’t important.

Another thing about being sleepless in Boston is that it’s harder to tell what is and isn’t important.

Do any of my photos reflect that I’m sleepless in Boston?

.

Whenever I’m sleepless in Boston, I remember the helpful book The Sleep Solution, and how my takeaway from that was “Don’t worry about it!”

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “sleepless in Boston.”

.

Seeing that Epik High video might keep me sleepless in Boston as I try to figure out how to get crowds like that at future concerts. Maybe my new song, which I just started writing, will help.

Day 4164: Dreams coming true

Yesterday, a dream came true for me. I gave a concert of my original songs and people enjoyed them. I played the ukulele, the piano, and the drums, I sang by myself and with others, and there was a lot of audience participation. It was a dream coming true, and I was awake!

Somebody who was at the concert suggested that I send recordings of my performance to Taylor Swift; he thought she would recognize that I’d be a great opening act for her. Somehow, I don’t think that dream’s coming true, but who knows?

Do you see dreams coming true in my images for today?

.

It would be dreams coming true if we had nothing to fear on Nothing to Fear Day.

Here‘s what I find when I search for “dreams coming true” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are witnessing my dreams coming true, including YOU!

Day 4163: Life moves fast

Life moves fast and BLAM! and here we are. Today, at age 71, I am doing the first concert /live album taping of my original songs at the Lilypad in Cambridge. When I first decided to do this way back in October, I thought this day would be soooooo slooooow getting here, but life moves fast!

Life moves fast in my images for today.

.

Maybe on Neighbor Day, I’ll see some neighbors at the Lilypad!

Here‘s what I find on YouTube when I search for “life moves fast.”

.

Thanks to all who move through this fast life with me, including YOU!!

Day 4162: Courage

I’m working on my songs and the courage to perform them tomorrow in front of a live audience.

Yesterday, I walked around my neighborhood with my ukulele, my set list, and my music, stopping to practice each song in the fresh air. Because I had never done anything like that before, I guess that took courage.

Do you see courage in my images for today?

.

When I search for courage on YouTube, I find this:

.

Thanks to Susan David, my friends on Twitter, the Daily Bitch, and all those who give me courage, including YOU!

Day 4161: How’s it going?

How’s it going? I saw that question when I was going yesterday and thought I would pass it on to others.

.

Let’s see if we can find out how it’s going through my images for today.

.

Let’s see how it’s going on YouTube, here and now.

.

No matter how it’s going, I am grateful to you!

Day 4160: You are enough

Yesterday, as I was trying to get ready enough for my concerts by traveling all over the Greater Boston area to see my physical therapist in downtown Boston, my singing teacher in the town where my son grew up, various sites in the town where I grew up, and Nat who will be joining me for two numbers, I saw this helpful reminder:

.

Let’s see if I have enough photos to convey that you are enough.

.

You are enough no matter what you do today. Because it’s International Turtle Day, I’m going to get my husband more of the chocolate turtles he loves.

Here’s what I find when I search for “you are enough” on YouTube:

.

You are enough and I am grateful for you!

Day 4159: What I’m learning

What I’m learning these days is mostly related to preparing for my concert/live album taping.

What I’m learning, again, is that there is ALWAYS more to learn.

Can you see what I’m learning in my images for today?

I’m learning that lawyers don’t mind implying that they’re sharks.
I’m learning that people you love keep turning up in your life. We missed seeing Deanna at our favorite restaurant and here I’m learning she now works near us and will be at my concert!
I’m learning my dear friend Carol plays guitar and harmonizes like an angel, and we’re both learning how to duet on “Don’t Kill Yourself.”
I’m learning here that Carol has bongo drums and I didn’t need to order some but, oh well.
I’m learning that today is Buy a Musical Instrument Day, so maybe it’s good that I bought bongos for my show.
I’m learning, again, that my husband Michael is a fabulous cook.
I’m learning that the Daily Bitch and I have a lot in common.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “what I’m learning.”

.

I’m learning that there are many good songwriters out there and there’s room for one more!

Thanks to all who help with what I’m learning, including YOU!
