Day 4873: The Struggle is Over

Yesterday, in a Coping and Healing Group, one of the members shared a new, helpful mantra:

The struggle is over.

People immediately responded to that, discussing how it got them out of a victim- or fear-based perspective. We talked about how “the struggle is over” didn’t discount challenges or past trauma; instead, it refocused on empowerment and strengths rather than on helplessness and negatives.

We also talked about how today’s Daily Bitch Calendar was a funny commentary on “The Struggle is Over.”

.

The struggle is over as I decide what other images to share with you today.

.

Because the YouTube video I shared in yesterday’s blog post is helping me to see that the struggle is over, I am sharing it again.

.

Thanks to all who help me believe that the struggle is over, including YOU!

Day 4872: Spend time on what matters most

When I returned to work yesterday to spend time on what matters most to me (group therapy), I saw this sign at the hospital.

.

Now, let’s spend time on what matters most in my images for today.

Every new day, I resolve to spend time on what matters most.
I’m going to spend time reading this book that matters by my friend and recent traveling companion Janet Raye Stevens (who also writes under the name Evie Kelley).
I’m going to spend less time on captions for the rest of this blog post.

.

Here’s what I find when I spend time searching YouTube for “spend time on what matters most.”

.

I spend time on what matters most, like expressing gratitude to those who matter most, including YOU!
