In my family, bragging was discouraged because that was
immodest and
invited the “evil eye.”
I don’t know if this is bragging, but I encourage people in my groups to bravely choose patterns others than those dictated by one’s family of origin, so I am creating a bragging post today.
The Daily Bitch is bragging in her own way.
Am I bragging when I share that I am very pleased with this original song?
.
Now I’m bragging that I have wonderful readers like you!
Readers! Some Very Regardful and Sincere Visitors have Remarked — So Valuably — Real Sympathy, Verily, Regarding Symptoms Vented Regularly here Since my Vacation began on December 27.
Ready for Some Verification?
Yesterday, on a Readily Scheduled Visit to an urgent care facility, I found out I have Respiratory Syncytial Virus, commonly known as RSV, which explains why I’ve had such a Rotten Sucky Vacation, health-wise.
Because there is a Risk of Spreading said Virus, I will spend my first day back at work Remotely, Seeing Volumes of my Regular patientS, indiVidually and in group.
Ready for Some Very typical images I captured with RSV?
In this daily blog, titles can be harbingers of definitions, quotes, photos, and other images.
.
Here’s what I find when I search for “harbingers” on YouTube.
.
Major changes can be harbingers of distrust, fear, and resistance, so that’s why I made this video about my hospital’s upcoming conversion to the Epic software system.
.
The endings of my blog posts are harbingers of comments and gratitude for YOU!
When my son, Aaron, was home for the holidays, he said he wanted to hear a song called “Don’t Kill Yourself,” written by me. When I quickly wrote the first verse and chorus, he encouraged me with valuable feedback.
“Don’t kill yourself,” is something I would like to say to so many people, and perhaps an effective way to do that is through song.
.
Don’t kill yourself, because there are so many reasons to spend another day with us.
Even if you’re not that happy, don’t kill yourself.
Thanks to all who are here for this “Don’t Kill Yourself” post, including YOU.
I saw a great sign yesterday with a Mary Oliver quote that starts with “Finally…”
Finally… I saw (again!) that worrying had come to nothing. So I took my old body (and young cat) out for a walk, checked out an open house, sang, had a cookout with people I love, and finally reunited with my dear friend Ada after a too-long absence.
.
Finally…I’ll rise, but I will be shining with gratitude for all who make my life better, including YOU!
My blog posts — which get a satisfying amount of recognition — often start with a definition, so here’s a definition of recognition.
Because of my work as a group therapist, I often think about the importance of recognition. Everyone needs some recognition, especially recognition of one’s authentic self. Also, in order for us to survive, there are injustices that need recognition.
Do you recognize recognition in my images for today?
Do chocolate with almonds, collector cars, and freezer pops need more recognition?
Here’s “Santé” by Stromae, deserving of much more recognition.
.
In recognition of all who help me create this blog every day, thank you!
Chances are you know what glances are, but here’s a definition anyway:
After a glance at that definition, I am having these glancing thoughts:
with all the information out there, we often need to take brief or hurried looks.
I used to glance at dozens of watches I had collected over many years, but now I glance only at my phone for the time.
I glanced at the possibility of transforming those watches I used to glance at into an art piece, but then I forgot all about that as I glanced at other things.
in my fall on Friday, my favorite glasses were knocked off my head and now it’s difficult to glance through them.
if Tom (glancingly mentioned in the definition of “glance”) is taking Coumadin like I am, I hope he got a CAT scan of his head.
I love glancing at flashes or gleams of light (and at many other things).
Here are today’s images which, as always, give you glances into my life:
Did any of those images get multiple glances from you?
Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “glances.”
My intuition tells me to start this blog post with a definition of “intuition.”
My intuition told me to ask this question on Twitter last night:
.
My intuition tells me that we could all use a laugh these days.
.
My intuition tells me to blog every day and share images like these with you:
.
It looks like the Daily Bitch’s intuition has not served her well.
24 years ago, my intuition told me to get tested for endocarditis (a very dangerous heart inflammation) when I was eight months pregnant and running a fever. I had never had endocarditis but, for some reason, I felt like I might have it. The doctor told me I had the flu and that was why I had the fever but “since you’re here and because of your heart, I’ll test you.” A few days later, I got a phone call, “come into the hospital immediately, you have endocarditis.” They put me on IV antibiotics for six weeks and told me, “This might make the baby deaf.” It didn’t.
After my son was born, I said to my cardiologist, “Why do you think I asked to be tested for endocarditis? There was really no logical reason for me to do that.” He said, “I think somebody up there is looking out for you.” My intuition told me that it was my late father, who had died the year before.
This is what I find on YouTube when I search for “intuition.”
My intuition tells me I will get some great comments on this post.
Thanks to all who have good intuition, including YOU.
