Yesterday morning, I was practicing Qigong with a YouTube video that ended with the instructor describing how to let your light shine into the universe.
Then, on a walk through my neighborhood, I saw this:
.
Later, I let my light shine by spending time with light-shining friends Janet and Ray at lunch and then a 50th anniversary showing of Mel Brooks’s Blazing Saddles.
Now I will try to let light shine with the other images I captured yesterday.

Yesterday, I went to a group therapy demonstration where it was difficult to hear what the group members and the facilitator were saying. That bothered me until I realized that I could still learn a lot by taking in non verbal communication and other signals from those around me.
These days, life can be so confusing that I often wonder “what are they saying?” even when the words are quite clear.
What are they saying in my images for today?

Today’s Daily Bitch calendar has an idea about how to make life more enjoyable.
.
Personally, I make life more enjoyable by (1) doing more enjoyable things and (2) spending more time with enjoyable creatures, which I hope is reflected in these images:
According to Dr. Dale Anderson (and others), acting happy can make life more enjoyable.

Last night, after we went to several highly automated, touch-screen-dominated, and hard-surfaced establishments at a local mall, my husband Michael said, “These places seem like a parody of the future.”
I love the phrase “Parody of the Future” although I’m not sure I can explain why. We make up the future, so how can there be a parody of our own imaginings?
As usual, Michael makes me think, laugh, and appreciate my past, present, and future with him. And I predicted the future last night by telling Michael, “That’s my blog post title for tomorrow.”
Do you see a parody of the future in my images for today?

Last night I dreamt that our beloved cat Joan climbed up on the roof of a very high building, was grabbed by a hawk who embraced her in the air and then flew away with her in its talons, and as I was yelling, “the hawk has Joan!,” she fell from the hawk’s grasp. I woke up, relieved that Joan was okay, and now I’m wondering if that dream was a parody of the future.

Thanks to Michael, Joan, and all who help me deal with the future (parody or otherwise), including YOU!
I don’t want to compromise my high standards for my own blog, but I’ve got to throw together today’s post quickly if I’m to get to work on time. Therefore, this post will be a compromise between quality and my meeting other obligations.
Do you see compromise in my images for today?
Let’s compromise. I’ll tell you to leave a comment and you’ll do it.
Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “compromise.”
I’m going to compromise by not listening to that entire video before including it here.
Thanks to all who helped me create this “compromise” post, including YOU!
