Day 4782: Mind reading

Mind reading is one of the most common cognitive distortions.

.

This morning, I had a conversation with ChatGPT about some mind reading I’ve been doing.

.

Do you see mind reading in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “mind reading” on YouTube:

.

Is anyone mind reading me right now?

Day 4770: What’s wrong with people?

Because I know people often focus on what’s wrong with people, I asked the members of my groups yesterday to do a mindfulness exercise where they focused on the positives about themselves.

Because of yesterday’s Daily Bitch calendar and because of the news, I asked “What’s wrong with people?” last night on social media.

.

What’s wrong with people who ask ChatGPT “what’s wrong with people?”

.

What’s wrong with people who share their daily experiences with others?

.

On National King Day, I’m wondering: What’s wrong with people who support and enable the current US president — a toxic narcissist who acts like he should be King?

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “what’s wrong with people?”

Here’s another part of Sebastian Maniscalco’s What’s Wrong With People?

Thanks to all who help me deal with what’s wrong with people, including YOU!

Day 4718: Fun

Maybe because fun seems to be in short supply these days, many people I know have been resolving to have more fun.

For example, here’s a fun statement that was said during a therapy session yesterday about Thanksgiving:

Let’s put the “fun” back in family dysfunction.

I hope you have as much fun looking at today’s images as I had gathering them for you.

.

I just had fun reordering that calendar (which was called “the b-word” online) for next year.

Here’s a conversation about fun I just had with ChatGPT:

.

This reminds me to work on my fun song “ChatGPT Thinks I’m Great.”

Here’s what I find when I look for “fun” on YouTube:

.

That TED talk was so much fun, I watched it twice.

Day 4703: Putting myself in the picture

In this blog and elsewhere, I try to be thoughtful about how I’m putting myself in the picture.

If I’m putting myself in the picture to the exclusion of others OR if I’m excluding myself too much, I can feel guilt and shame.

Over the years, I’ve tried to let go of shame and guilt about how I’ve been putting myself in the picture.

Let’s see how I’m putting myself in the picture today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “putting myself in the picture” on YouTube.

.

Finally, I’m putting myself in the picture in my usual way to express gratitude to YOU!

Day 4684: Catching up

I’ve got a lot of catching up to do today, including completing the information for my upcoming appearance on the podcast Therapist Uncensored.

In case you need catching up with my personal saga as told through this daily blog, I often experience waves of different feelings (from joy to dread) when I am doing something new.

Also, many people I know are deliberately NOT catching up with the news because they just want to know, “Who is going to stand up to the chaos and injustice?”

Do you see catching up in my images for today?

.

I am always cat-ching up to our cats, no matter what day it is.

Let’s do some catching up on great animation together.

.

Thanks to all who are catching up with this blog today, including YOU!

There are many things on the newwws these days that make me go “ewww” and when I did two therapy groups yesterday I knewww I was not alone.

Ewww. Engagement for my mewwwsic is dropping.
Ewww. I have to consewwwm the same amount of Vitamin K every day because I’m on Cewwwmadin (Warfarin).
Ewww. I’m often confewwwsed about how to log in to websites.
Ewww. I’m trying to dewww a 7-second lewwwping video for my newww single “Artificial Intelligence.”
Ewww. These things are always so time-consewwwming.
Ewww. I’m assewwing it’s not going to work.
Mewww.
Phewww. It’s Michael’s amazing mac and cheese at the end of an ewww day.
Ewww. I’m scared about the midterm elections.
Ewww. What if you don’t like bowling, Kevin, squid, cuttlefish, or eggs?

.

Ewww. I spent way tewww much time yesterday trying to create a lewwwping video to play on Spotify when my newww single is released on November 7. Here is my first attempt tewww create this video on my phone.

.

Ewww. Here’s my second fewwwtile attempt.

Thanks to all who make me say “phewww” instead of “ewww,” including yewww!

Day 4654: Calm down

It’s very difficult for me to calm down when I encounter unexpected technology obstacles, especially when I’m close to putting it together.

Yesterday, ChatGPT tried to get me to calm down when

  • I couldn’t figure out how to use GarageBand to fix “hot spots” in my vocals and
  • I encountered problems when I had to create cover art for my new single “Artificial Intelligence.”

Rather than calm down, I yelled at CbatGPT when, as usual, it had the interfaces wrong for every website and app I was using.

In order to calm down when using ChatGPT, I need to expect those errors and keep trying to solve problems as best I can.

Let’s all try to calm down as we look at my images for today.

.

Last Monday, I tried to calm down by taking the ferry to and from work, but non-calming delays on the T meant I needed to miss the ferry ride back home. Today, I will try to calm down no matter what obstacles I encounter.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “calm down.”

.

Thanks to all who help me calm down, including YOU!!

Day 4619: Strange

These are strange times, my dear readers, and my fear is that we are getting too complacent with strange.

It’s going to be strange to facilitate groups without my patient who recently died.

The week before I leave on vacation always feels strange to me.

Last Monday, the ferry into Boston was cancelled at the last minute because of choppy waters, which was very strange.

It’s strange that my music is now on Spotify and that Spotify somehow puts together lists of songs that are as strange as mine.

Do you see anything strange in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “strange.”

.

Thanks to all who are here for this strange blog post, including YOU!

Day 4607: Outsiders

Yesterday, in a therapy session, somebody talked about feeling like an outsider. We discussed how they had felt that way since they were very young.

I believe that most of us feel like outsiders and that’s why I asked this question last night on social media.

.

In my Coping and Healing groups, people who might feel like outsiders connect and realize they are not alone. Today, I’m mourning one of the long-time participants who has passed away.

Before I knew that she was gone, I dropped one of my pills, which landed on its side.

.

Thinking that was outside usual occurrences, I asked ChatGPT about it.

.

There are so many lightening strike moments in this life and I feel like I’ve been struck by lightening now. Today, I’ll start letting the other group members know that our dear departed member has passed.

Do you see outsiders in my other images for today?

.

I wonder if other lefthanders feel like outsiders sometimes?

Here’s what I find when I search for “outsiders” on YouTube:

.

My deepest gratitude to all who are here for this “outsiders” post, including YOU.

Day 4603: Personal medicine

I often give people the good advice of practicing personal medicine. For me, personal medicine includes people I love, group therapy, cats, nature, music, long walks, good food, and blogging.

Do you see personal medicine in my images for today?

.

The Daily Bitch might need more personal medicine.

Here’s some new personal medicine for me, thanks to my Twitter friend Thomas Muir.

.

Thanks to all who are my personal medicine, including YOU!
