Day 4684: Catching up

I’ve got a lot of catching up to do today, including completing the information for my upcoming appearance on the podcast Therapist Uncensored.

In case you need catching up with my personal saga as told through this daily blog, I often experience waves of different feelings (from joy to dread) when I am doing something new.

Also, many people I know are deliberately NOT catching up with the news because they just want to know, “Who is going to stand up to the chaos and injustice?”

Do you see catching up in my images for today?

.

I am always cat-ching up to our cats, no matter what day it is.

Let’s do some catching up on great animation together.

.

Thanks to all who are catching up with this blog today, including YOU!

Day 4320: Love and Hate

After I listened to Kamala Harris’s “closing arguments” speech last night and compared it to Donald Trump’s hate-filled rally on Sunday, I asked a question about love and hate on Twitter.

.

I love the answers I get on Twitter (and I hate the name “X”).

.

This morning, I googled “love and hate quotes” and this is the response I got:

.

I love/hate AI.

Do you love sharing my images with you every day.

.

Now we know about Zombie love.

Here’s what I find when I search for “love and hate” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who have dealt with love and hate, including YOU!

Day 4319: International Internet Day

Today is International Internet Day, everybody!

As is typical of the Internet, some sites are calling this International Internal Day and others are calling it National Internet Day.

.

Whatever this day is called, I’m celebrating it. If it weren’t for the Internet, I couldn’t be connecting with you, here and now, with these words and images.

.

Today is also National Cat Day, so I’m sharing a favorite cat picture through the Internet.

.

Here’s something I find when I search for “International Internet Day” on the Internet:

.

Thanks to all the wonderful people I’ve met through the Internet, including YOU!

Day 3954: I don’t know what I’m doing

Whenever I do something new, I inevitably think, “I don’t know what I’m doing,” so it’s good to see that I’m not alone.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing creating an album of my original songs, but I plan to talk to people who do know what they’re doing.

I don’t know what I’m doing on TikTok, but I did create a video there yesterday of Joan not knowing what she was doing with whole wheat matzo.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing pulling together other images as fast as I can to create a blog post before I catch a very early ferry to work, but I hope it turns out okay.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing today besides working, but perhaps I’ll create a checklist of other things.

Thanks to all those who help and support me when I don’t know what I’m doing, like YOU!

Day 3953: Make a difference

When I think about my wish for myself in this world, my hope is to make a difference in positive ways, small, medium, or large.

I wonder if today’s blog post will make a difference.

.

On International Internet and National Cat Day, I hope to make a difference by sharing (1) kind and creative people who connect on the internet and (2) cats.

Here’s what I find on the internet when I search for “make a difference.”

.

Thanks to Verity Leung, kind and creative people who connect on the internet, cats and other wonderful creatures, and all those who make a difference, including YOU.

Day 3590: Trust

In therapy, people work on trust. They ask, Who can I trust? Can I trust myself? What happens if I trust too much or trust too little?

I’ve been working in trust in therapy, too. If I have trouble trusting myself or others, I take a deep breath, slow down, and trust in my ability to move forward.

I trust there are trustworthy quotes about trust I can share with you, here and now.

.

Is there trust in my images for today?

I trust in young people, including my son Aaron.

Here’s what I find when I search for “trust” on YouTube.

Thanks to all those I trust, including YOU.

Day 3224: Improve the Moment

“Improve the moment” is a set of DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills, as follows:

Imagery

Meaning

Prayer

Relaxing actions

One thing in the moment

Vacation

Encouragement

If you want to improve your understanding of that set of DBT skills, see here.

Yesterday, I tried to improve the moment by posting this on Twitter:

Do any of my other images for today improve the moment?

Eating a nutritious meal on National Cat Day while planning a trip to New York City in November would improve many moments for me!

I think I can improve this blog post by including this video here:

How can you improve the moment, here and now?

Gratitude always improves the moment, so thanks to all who are taking a moment to visit this blog post, including YOU!

Day 1399: National ___ Day

In my nation of the United States of America, EVERY day is National Something Day.

If today is National Skepticism Day where you are, check out this link.

Yesterday, I saw signs for two out of the three National _____ Days listed for October 29:

Today — which is National Candy Corn Day,  National Speak Up for Service Day, and  National Publicist Day — I am speaking up and publicizing all the other corny photos I took (in order) on National Cat Day, National Oatmeal Day,  and National Hermit Day:

As you can see, we gave our cats some toys for National Cat Day,  and they celebrated like they do on any other day.

In anticipation of some upcoming national events here (including Halloween and Election Day), here’s “National Brotherhood Week” written and performed in the 1960s by our national treasure,  Tom Lehrer (who is still alive on this day):

Finally,  what day would you like today to be? I’m speaking  up — candidly, cornily, and publicly — and declaring today National Gratitude Day, as I express gratitude to all who helped me create this post and — of course! — to all my readers.
