Day 4738: Holiday Song

This past holiday weekend, I spent hours making many choices to create my new single Holiday Song. I hoped Holiday Song would be available during the holidays and, much to my amazement, it’s already up on Apple Music!

I’ll share more links to Holiday Song as soon as they show up. And I’ll be spending the holidays performing it for anyone who wants to hear it.

Here’s the cover art I created yesterday:

.

Here’s the final version of the lyrics:

Here are the rest of my images for this Holiday Song blog post.

.

Marriage IS fun and I considered my husband Michael’s suggestion to remove the “Chimera Bells” track from my Holiday Song and then just kept it in anyway.

OMG! Holiday Song is already up on YouTube!

Thanks to all who are here for my Holiday Song, including YOU!

Day 4654: Calm down

It’s very difficult for me to calm down when I encounter unexpected technology obstacles, especially when I’m close to putting it together.

Yesterday, ChatGPT tried to get me to calm down when

  • I couldn’t figure out how to use GarageBand to fix “hot spots” in my vocals and
  • I encountered problems when I had to create cover art for my new single “Artificial Intelligence.”

Rather than calm down, I yelled at CbatGPT when, as usual, it had the interfaces wrong for every website and app I was using.

In order to calm down when using ChatGPT, I need to expect those errors and keep trying to solve problems as best I can.

Let’s all try to calm down as we look at my images for today.

.

Last Monday, I tried to calm down by taking the ferry to and from work, but non-calming delays on the T meant I needed to miss the ferry ride back home. Today, I will try to calm down no matter what obstacles I encounter.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “calm down.”

Thanks to all who help me calm down, including YOU!!

Day 4653: Putting It Together

Putting it Together is a great Stephen Sondheim song about being an artist.

.

Here is Barbra Streisand performing Putting It Together.

.

I love the way Putting it Together puts together the creative process with business realities for artists.

I’ve been working on my original song Artificial Intelligence and I’m almost done putting it together. I’ve been putting together two harmonizing vocal tracks, a ukulele track, and two tracks of my making different percussive noises — none of them artificial. After putting it together, I asked my honest and musically critical husband to listen to it and he liked it!

As I am putting it together, I have some hot spots in my vocals that I cannot fix with ChatGPT guiding me through GarageBand. That is preventing me from putting it together to finish this blog post and to start my day.

I will now focus on putting it together here.

.

Thanks to all who help me putting it together every day, including YOU!

Day 4651: Turns

Does anybody remember Timothy Leary’s “Turn on, tune in, drop out”?

Now it’s the Daily Bitch’s turn.

.

Because I want to turn off the news and turn up the music, I’ve been taking some turns with GarageBand to create a single of my original song “Artificial Intelligence.”

.

So far, I’ve turned out two vocal tracks with harmony, a ukulele track, and a clapping track. Because this is my first time turning to GarageBand, I sometimes turn into a nervous wreck as I try to use this new-to-me music technology.

Now I’ll turn to my parody song, “Technology.”

.

It’s time to turn to the rest of my images for today.

.

On National Better Breakfast Day, I shall turn to a better breakfast with protein and vegetables — leftovers from last night’s supper.

.

It’s your turn to comment on this blog post, below.

Finally, I turn to gratitude for YOU.

Day 4638: Difficult to find

Things that are difficult to find these days include

  • civility
  • agreement,
  • hope,
  • peace of mind, and
  • this popcorn that my husband Michael really likes.

.

Michael thinks that the universe keeps tabs on things he enjoys (like Ben and Jerry Banana Split ice cream) and makes them difficult to find.

Because that popcorn is so difficult to find and I had never tasted it before it disappeared from stores, I ordered it online for way too much money. That difficult-to-find item arrived yesterday with this warning:

.

Before I opened the package, it was difficult for me to find any memory of having ordered anything that needed to be handled with care.

Luckily, I’m not loving that popcorn so much that I’ll be sad that it is so difficult to find.

Do you see other things that are difficult to find in my images for today?

Manageable lists for daily observances can be difficult to find.

And the Daily Bitch know that functional families can be difficult to find.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “difficult to find” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who are here for this difficult to find blog post, including YOU!

Day 2194: What’s yours/What’s not yours

What’s your understanding of today’s post title: “What’s yours/What’s not yours”?

Yesterday, one of “my” therapy groups decided to focus on that topic after several of the participants had described challenges with other people in their lives.  The group members found it useful to make a list of what was theirs on one side of a paper and a list of what was NOT theirs on the other side.

Here are my lists:

Because of confidentiality, I would never share a list that was not mine. However, I did “steal” some of the ideas from other people’s lists, because I found they also applied to my life.

The photos in this blog post are mine. However, they show some things that are not mine.   And once I share them, are they mine, yours, or ours?

That microphone is not mine.  It belongs to my son’s friend, Leo, who has been staying with us.  Last night, Leo, Aaron, and Leo’s microphone helped me record all my original songs, using Apple’s GarageBand.

It was my intention to share, here and now,  the recording of my latest song, “It’s Not Me.” However, it’s not mine to share, at this point.  Instead, it’s my prerogative to share “My Prerogative,” which is not mine and is Bobby Brown‘s.

Whose turn is it to express thoughts and feelings?  It’s yours.

It’s my choice to end each blog post with gratitude, including thanks to YOU.
