Day 5009: Who do you think you are?

“Who do you think you are?” is

  • a challenging, judgmental question from an external or internal critic or
  • a genuinely curious question about identity and self-perception.

Who do I think I am? I am a lover of nature, a group therapist, an asker of questions, and a grateful recipient of another precious day on this earth.

Who do you think you are?

I think you are many things, including a reader of today’s blog with these images.

.

“Who do you think you are?” is a line from this song:

.

Who do you think you are? You’re someone I want to thank, here and now.

Day 4953: TL;DR

I’ve been wondering if people are thinking “TL;DR” about my daily blog posts.

.

Here is a TL;DR summary of all my blog posts: introductory paragraph(s) containing concepts I think would be useful to share, my photographs from the day before (arranged for maximum impact/humor/connections); the Daily Bitch calendar (except on Sunday) (even she needs to rest), the observations/celebrations of the day, a relevant and (I hope) useful video, and gratitude.

I wonder if a TL;DR (what I used to call “sound bite”) culture discourages deeper understanding of important issues. However, I do appreciate the correct use of the semicolon in “TL;DR.”

Is this blog post TL;DR?

I bet nobody says “TL;DR” about The Daily Bitch Calendar.

Here’s what I find when I search for “TL;DR” on YouTube:

Thanks to all who made it to the end of the TL;DR post, including YOU!

Day 4911: Greatest Aspirations

Today’s Daily Bitch Calendar …

… inspired me to ask a question about greatest aspirations last night.

.

I share a greatest aspiration with Marty Berry.

Do you see greatest aspirations in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “greatest aspirations” on YouTube:

I love that TED talk by Stephen Duneier and I agree that achieving greatest aspirations involves marginal adjustments and small, achievable steps.

Here is one of Stephen Duneier’s greatest aspirations:

.

Now my greatest aspiration is to express my sincere gratitude to YOU.

Day 4666: Disturbed

I know I am not alone in being disturbed by the current USA administration and I think you can see evidence of that in my images for today.

.

I’ve reached the age where I don’t know if I should be disturbed that one of my fingers is kind of blue. Ewww.

.

I’ll find out if anybody else is disturbed about that when I go to Urgent Care this morning.

I wonder if I’ll be disturbed by what I find when I search for “disturbed” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who help me when I’m disturbed, including YOU!

Day 4652: Fun

It’s been fun using GarageBand to create a recording of my original song “Artificial Intelligence.” On the different tracks, I sound like I’m having fun, which is great.

I’ve also been having fun facilitating my Coping and Healing groups, where the members feel safe enough to cry AND laugh.

I try my best to find the fun even during un-fun and dys-fun-tional times like these.

This is how the Daily Bitch has fun:

.

This is me having fun:

.

On World Tourism Day, I’m having fun remembering that my son told me that I seem like a tourist no matter where I am, which speaks to how I have fun.

Here’s what I find when I search for fun on YouTube.

.

How do you have fun?

Day 4638: Difficult to find

Things that are difficult to find these days include

  • civility
  • agreement,
  • hope,
  • peace of mind, and
  • this popcorn that my husband Michael really likes.

.

Michael thinks that the universe keeps tabs on things he enjoys (like Ben and Jerry Banana Split ice cream) and makes them difficult to find.

Because that popcorn is so difficult to find and I had never tasted it before it disappeared from stores, I ordered it online for way too much money. That difficult-to-find item arrived yesterday with this warning:

.

Before I opened the package, it was difficult for me to find any memory of having ordered anything that needed to be handled with care.

Luckily, I’m not loving that popcorn so much that I’ll be sad that it is so difficult to find.

Do you see other things that are difficult to find in my images for today?

Manageable lists for daily observances can be difficult to find.

And the Daily Bitch know that functional families can be difficult to find.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “difficult to find” on YouTube.

.

Day 4624: Favorite restaurants

Now that I’m on vacation and down to my fighting weight (whatever that means), I’m thinking about favorite restaurants.

My goal is to enjoy great food in favorite restaurants near Boston and also in Charleston, South Carolina when I’m there for a group therapy training next week.

Last night, I asked a question about favorite restaurants on Twitter.

.

I think people like sharing about their favorite restaurants.

Here are some favorite restaurants in Charleston, South Carolina

.

Yesterday evening, my husband and o ate at one of our favorite restaurants and then went on our traditional walk looking for rabbits.

.

Tonight, we are going to another favorite restaurant which might actually have toasted marshmallow and bacon on the menu. I’m going to tell them that they can stream my new album there if they want.

Here’s what I find when I search for “favorite restaurants” on YouTube.

.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

Day 4603: Personal medicine

I often give people the good advice of practicing personal medicine. For me, personal medicine includes people I love, group therapy, cats, nature, music, long walks, good food, and blogging.

Do you see personal medicine in my images for today?

.

The Daily Bitch might need more personal medicine.

Here’s some new personal medicine for me, thanks to my Twitter friend Thomas Muir.

.

Thanks to all who are my personal medicine, including YOU!

Day 4589: Making Sense of All This

Last night, when my busy mind was trying to make sense of all this, I fell asleep listening to somebody making sense about Quantum Physics.

.

Making sense of Quantum Physics seemed to include the realizations that the world (including each of us) is 99.999999999% empty space, nothing ever touches anything else, and things can exist in more than one place simultaneously.

My way of making sense of all this is to blog daily, facilitate therapy groups, and create and share original songs.

.

Making sense of all my songs includes assigning a genre to each tune and I don’t know if they are inspirational, folk, comedy, pop, vocal, children’s music, vocal, or (as ChatGPT suggests) spoken word (?).

While you’re making sense of all this, here are my other images for today.

.

Here’s the YouTube video making sense of Quantum Physics:

.

Sweet dreams!

Thanks to all who are doing their best making sense of all this, including YOU!

Day 4575: Animals

For me and many others, animals are a comfort, especially during times like these.

Every Friday evening, my husband Michael and I go looking for crepuscular animals of the rabbity kind.

Get ready for lots of photos of animals!

.

On New Conversations Day, does anybody want to start some new conversations about animals?

Here’s a TikTok video I made about animals:

.

Thanks to all who are here for this animals post, including YOU!
