Day 4976: True Love

Yesterday was True Love Forever Day.

.

I expressed my true love yesterday by talking to those I love, by going to see The Odyssey (which I love) with my true love and husband Michael, and by asking a question about true love on social media.

.

Do you see true love in my other images for today?

.

When I search for true love on YouTube, I find this …

.

… this,

.

… and this.

.

True thanks to all who are here for this true love post, including YOU! 💕

Day 4793: Groups

If you are part of the group of people who often read this blog, you know that I love my job working with groups.

Even on a weekend or vacation, I think about groups. I notice how people join groups, negotiate groups, replicate old family patterns in groups, leave groups, and change in groups. I notice that some groups are toxic and others promote healing. I realize that there are certain roles that exist in groups (like problem solver, rebel, peacemaker, outsider) and that if one person is not taking a role, another one will.

What groups do you see in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for groups on YouTube:

.

Now, would you consider joining the group of people who comment on my blog?

Thanks to all who are part of my groups, including YOU!

Day 4419: Catastrophes

Yesterday, in my Coping and Healing group, people talked about catastrophes. The discussion included experiencing the common human tendency for catastrophizing in the midst of actual catastrophes.

In case you’re not sure about the difference between catastrophizing and catastrophes, here’s my song “Catastrophizing.”

.

Because we tend to catastrophize and imagine the worst case scenario (no matter what’s going on) as a way to prepare for and survive the worst, this can exhaust us when we’re dealing with real catastrophes. On the other hand, many people report becoming calm and focused when catastrophes strike, becoming overwhelmed with anxiety later.

The challenge for us is dealing with extended, elongated catastrophes that have confusing or unknown results.

What catastrophes do you see in my images for today?

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about catastrophes?

Thanks to all who help me get through catastrophes, including YOU!

Day 4281: Strong emotions

Because I’m a psychotherapist, I often deal with people’s strong emotions.

Yesterday, I had many strong emotions, including a good cry when I watched West Side Story.

I have no shame about strong emotions, including sadness, fear, anger, and joy. I accept my strong emotions and allow them to flow through me, leaving room for other reactions.

Do you see strong emotions in my images for today?

I’ve always had strong emotions about cats, who have supported me emotionally since I was 10 years old.
For me, it’s West Side Story, The Deer Hunter, Sophie’s Choice, To Kill a Mockingbird, Schindler’s List, and so many others.
I had strong emotions about Angry Staffer answering my question on Twitter last night.
“Maybe calm down” can be a valid response to strong emotions.
I have strong emotions about several of today’s observances.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “strong emotions” on YouTube:

.

On World Gratitude Day (and every other day), I have strong emotions of gratitude for YOU.

Day 4031: Quotes

Dear News Media et al,

I am sick and tired of quotes from Donald Trump and you can quote me on that.

Here are quotes I need today:

.

Those are quotes I need on this special day and here are some images:

.

Here are some more quotes for Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

.

Undying thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. and all who helped me create this “quotes” post, including you.

Day 3991: What are you looking forward to?

What are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to

  • My long-awaited appointment at a craniofacial center today (because of my clicking jaw),
  • The therapy groups I’m facilitating this week,
  • An Open Mic on Friday where I’ll be debuting my original song “It’s Hard to Get Shit Done When You’re Scared Shitless,” accompanying myself on an electronic drum kit,
  • A ten-day vacation from work at the end of December,
  • My son returning from Halifax to Massachusetts for the holidays, and
  • Sharing these images with you today.

.

What’s the Daily Bitch looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to what I’ll find on YouTube when I search for “what are you looking forward to?”

.

I’m looking forward to your comments about this post and thanks for looking forward with me here, now.

Day 3836: Independence

On this Independence Day, I’m thinking that independence might be overrated, since we need to depend on each other in order to thrive and survive.

I depend on you to tell me if you see independence or interdependence in my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “independence” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all those I depend on this Independence Day, including YOU.

Day 3783: Life is too short

Life is too short to

  • worry about the future,
  • regret the past, and
  • spend too much time on lists.

Life is too short to postpone doing what I want to do, like sharing today’s Daily Bitch Calendar…

… and my question on Twitter last night.

.

Life is too short to not share what we can with each other (including my other images for today).

Life is too short to not eat what I want with people I love, so tonight I’ll be having an early Mother’s Day celebration dinner with my husband Michael, my son Aaron, and his father Leon.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “life is too short.”

Life is too short to hold back from expressing gratitude and appreciation to others, including YOU!

Day 3397: What I have to do today

Last night, when my husband Michael asked me what I have to do today, I replied with glee, “NOTHING!”

That’s not entirely true. I have to

  • take my medication,
  • blog,
  • call Chewy.com about why they cancelled our autoship of Yesterday’s News cat litter, and
  • tweet twice on Twitter,

but I’m completely okay with all of that.

I’m noticing there are A LOT of National Days (one of the daily tweets I have to do) for April 30, but I don’t have to do any of them.

.

I don’t have to take a walk and capture images today but I probably will.

.

The Daily Bitch doesn’t have to do that but it sure sounds like fun!

I don’t have to do this, but I’m sharing “The Day Off” from Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.

What do you have to do today?

I have to conclude this post with thanks to all who help me blog every day, including YOU!
