Day 4615: Lists

I have lists in my head, on paper, and on my phone.

My lists today include:

  • writing a eulogy for a beloved patient,
  • preparing an email about my album release tomorrow,
  • creating a “canvas” (a looping video) for my song “Don’t Kill Yourself” with helpful resources, and
  • celebrating my husband Michael’s birthday.

.

What lists do you see in my images today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “lists” on YouTube:

.

Also on my list: thank you all for being here, now.

Day 4568: Who cares?

Who cares what is happening to the USA?

Who cares if some of care so much

Who cares if I couldn’t find a protest yesterday but I’m going to one today?

Who cares if I blog daily and write songs I want to share?

Who cares what images I choose for today’s post?

.

Who cares about those Daily Holidays?

Who cares that I’m going to release a live album of this performance of my original songs on Spotify?

.

Who cares that these comments are now on my YouTube channel?

.

Who cares to leave a comment, below?

Thanks to all who care, including YOU.

Day 4509: Funnest

I just had fun reading an article about the word “funnest” by Bennett Kleinman, who sounds like a fun guy.

.

These are definitely not the funnest times for the USA, but I still try to have fun when I can.

I don’t know if I’ll have the funnest time today facilitating a group and then singing my protest song tonight for people who may or may not want to hear it, but I’m looking forward to it all.

Making decisions is not the funnest thing for me, and I need to decide soon which distribution platform to use in order to share my original songs on Spotify.

.

Which of my images today is the funnest?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “funnest” on YouTube:

Thanks to all who helped me create this “funnest” post, including YOU!

Day 4361: The Little Moments

Yesterday, at the hospital where I work in-person on Mondays, I saw this sign about the little moments.

.

I greatly appreciate that reminder to appreciate the little moments. As usual, I’ll share the little moments in my images for today.

.

I just spent little moments looking for the Jascha Heifetz performance that made Holly smile (see above) so we could all enjoy these moments together.

.

Thanks to all who help me appreciate the little moments, including YOU!

Day 4354: Self care

During challenging times, self care is especially important.

On the door of my office at the hospital, I display this reminder about self care:

.

I wonder if anybody finds that helpful.

Do you see self care in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for self care on YouTube:

Thanks to all who help me practice self care, including YOU!

Day 4349: I give thanks

It’s Thanksgiving here and I give thanks.

I give thanks for all the wonderful people and cats in my life.

I give thanks for my incredibly fulfilling work as a group therapist.

I give thanks for the doctors and the medical devices that have kept me alive, against all odds, for so many years.

I give thanks for the opportunity to give thanks every day in this blog.

I give thanks for my phone, which captured all of the images in this thankful post.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “I give thanks” on YouTube.

.

Of course, I give thanks for YOU!

Day 4334: Safe spaces

In my Coping and Healing groups, members sometimes express gratitude for safe spaces where they have room to express themselves authentically and to realize they are not alone.

I think we are all looking for safe spaces. Do you see safe spaces in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “safe spaces” on YouTube.

.

Later today, my husband Michael (who helps create safe spaces for me) will be going to a new space that’s safe for cats and humans — A Sanctuary Cafe in Boston.

I hope the comments section, below, is a safe place for you to express thoughts and feelings about this Safe Spaces post.

Thanks to all who help create safe spaces for others, including YOU.

Day 4226: Best Things

One of the best things about each day for me is blogging for you all.

Do you see best things in my images for today?

.

Here is one of the best things named in the answers to my question about the best things on Twitter.

.

Thanks to all those who bring the best things to life, including YOU!

Day 4172: Be kind to yourself

Be kind to yourself, starting now.

There is no downside or disadvantage to being kind to yourself. And yet, people — including those who are kind to others — often have trouble being kind to themselves, especially during difficult times.

Today I’m going to be kind to myself and get a new laptop, which will have the storage I need to use Epic hospital software when I am kindly working from home.

Please be kind to yourself as you look at my other images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “be kind to yourself” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are kindly here for this be-kind-to-yourself post, including YOU.

Day 4148: Final Stages

I’m in the final stages of preparing for my June 1 concert of original songs (and the dress rehearsal with audience the week before). These final stages include:

  • Setting up an Eventbrite page where people can give to Samaritans or the National Alliance on Mental Illness by purchasing tickets to the concert or by donating using QR codes or links.
  • Learning to play the drums well enough to accompany myself on “It’s Hard to Get Sh*t Done When You’re Scared Sh*tless.”
  • Getting all the other sh*t done so I’m ready to entertain people with 17 (!) original songs.

Do you see final stages in my images for today?

.

Now that I’m in the final stages of today’s blog post, let’s see what I find on YouTube when I search for final stages:

.

I also find this:

.

Final stages, for me, always include gratitude, so thanks to all who are here, now, including YOU!
