Day 4432: Questionable

Unquestionably, there are increasingly questionable people in power in the USA right now. As a result, there way too many questionable occurrences every day.

In case you have any questions about what questionable means, here’s a definition:

.

Whenever questionable things are happening, I have many questions, like how did this happen? What can we do about it? How will it end?

During the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Show on Sunday, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took questions from the audience. They asked Cher if she had any questions and she said, “No, I don’t. I’ve got a lot of answers.”

I wish I had a lot of answers, but I don’t. However, it’s good to see creative people still enjoying themselves during these questionable times.

.

Do you see anything questionable in my images for today?

.

It’s questionable that any of us are going to be able to retire with the questionable Elon Musk and his questionable DOGE bros controlling USA financial databases.

Any questions?

Thanks to all who showed up for this questionable blog post, including YOU!

Day 4419: Catastrophes

Yesterday, in my Coping and Healing group, people talked about catastrophes. The discussion included experiencing the common human tendency for catastrophizing in the midst of actual catastrophes.

In case you’re not sure about the difference between catastrophizing and catastrophes, here’s my song “Catastrophizing.”

.

Because we tend to catastrophize and imagine the worst case scenario (no matter what’s going on) as a way to prepare for and survive the worst, this can exhaust us when we’re dealing with real catastrophes. On the other hand, many people report becoming calm and focused when catastrophes strike, becoming overwhelmed with anxiety later.

The challenge for us is dealing with extended, elongated catastrophes that have confusing or unknown results.

What catastrophes do you see in my images for today?

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about catastrophes?

Thanks to all who help me get through catastrophes, including YOU!

Day 4417: Elongated

I am not alone in being very concerned about the elongated, growing influence of Elon Musk in the USA and the rest of the world.

My worries and fears about the future are elongated by Elon’s elongating interference with and control over the USA government.

My belief is that his elongated greed for power and wealth has no end and will be elongating misery for many.

I do not want an Elon-gated world and I know that I am not alone.

Here are my elongated images for today.

.

Like the Daily Bitch, my interest in comfort food is elongated during these elongated times.

Here is what I’ve decided to share today after an elongated search on YouTube:

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about these elongated times?

Thanks to all who are here for this elongated post, including YOU.

Day 4414: What’s happening?

Whenever I post on the site formerly known as Twitter, the default text says “What’s happening?” I’m very concerned with what’s happening in the USA, so yesterday I posted this:

.

Here are some people trying to make sense of what’s happening:

.

What’s happening in my other images for today?

.

What’s happening today? A lot.

.

Here’s what I find on YouTube today when I search for “what’s happening?”

.

What’s happening with you?

Many thanks to all who help me deal with what’s happening, including YOU!

Day 4360: Place and Time

In this place and time, “Place and Time” seems like the right title for today’s blog.

Let’s start with a definition of a certain type of place.

.

I hope this blog is a phrontistery. I also hope it’s a place for feeling, but I don’t know if there’s a word for such a place.

Now let’s turn to time.

.

I wasn’t sure where to place these other images, but there is no time like the present.

.

I don’t believe that most people are narcissists; I do believe that too many of them have access to power during this place and time.

Here’s what I find when I search for “place and time” on YouTube.

.

And while I originally placed the following image in a past blog, I think this is a good time to repeat it, as I head in to my work as a therapist.

.

Here and now is a good place and time to express my gratitude to YOU!

Day 4319: International Internet Day

Today is International Internet Day, everybody!

As is typical of the Internet, some sites are calling this International Internal Day and others are calling it National Internet Day.

.

Whatever this day is called, I’m celebrating it. If it weren’t for the Internet, I couldn’t be connecting with you, here and now, with these words and images.

.

Today is also National Cat Day, so I’m sharing a favorite cat picture through the Internet.

.

Here’s something I find when I search for “International Internet Day” on the Internet:

.

Thanks to all the wonderful people I’ve met through the Internet, including YOU!

Day 4282: What day is it?

It’s September 22, 2024, the first day of fall.

It’s also Car Free Day …

.

… among many other observances.

.

It’s also the the day after National Dance Day, which I was happy to celebrate by dancing and asking this question on Twitter last night:

.

It’s also a day when I’m sharing that classic Nicholas Brothers dance routine …

.

… as well as these images:

.

What day is it? It’s another day to work towards good outcomes for the USA November election.

It’s also another day to express my gratitude to YOU for being here, now.

Day 4277: Tell it how it is

I try to tell it how it is every day, in this blog and elsewhere, so maybe that’s why I noticed this sign yesterday at work.

Why wouldn’t we always tell it how it is? Perhaps we fear that if we do tell it how it is, we won’t be heard. Or perhaps we will be heard and pain will ensue.

I wish the media would tell it how it is regarding the obvious differences between the two candidates for USA President, instead of treating the convicted felon like a legitimate, reasonable option as world leader.

I also believe that Elon Musk is doing his best to restrict me and others from telling it how it is on his site.

Let’s see if I can tell it how it is in my other images for today.

.

When I search for “tell it how it is” on YouTube, I immediately find the song that’s been running through my head while creating this post:

.

Now I look forward to your telling it how it is in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who tell it how it is, including YOU!

Day 3857: The value of a moment

In mindfulness exercises, I invite members of my Coping and Healing groups to appreciate the value of a moment.

I value the moment when I saw this yesterday in the hospital gift shop:

.

I especially value that today because Twitter — where I’ve spent many wonderful moments connecting with thousands of terrific people — is becoming a memory.

Can you see the value of a moment in my other images for today?

.

I’m case you haven’t noticed, I DO Give A F about the value of a moment.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “the value of a moment.”

.

Thanks to all who help me appreciate the value of a moment, including YOU.

Day 3834: International Jokes

Yesterday, on International Joke Day, I asked this question on Twitter:

My last question for the (International Joke) day: Who is an international joke?

Because of international joke Elon Musk, I can’t access that question on Twitter at the moment …

… but I can share some of the answers (which I gathered before my “rate limit” was quickly exceeded this morning).

.

Do you see any international jokes in the other images I was able to capture for today?

.

On I Forgot Day, I’m going to forget about international jokes Musk, Trump, Putin, and the Supreme Court as I, without limits, work on my book and joke with my husband Michael’s family.

Here’s what I find when I search for “international jokes” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to Dawn Wong, Wes Anderson, sane people on Twitter, and everyone else who helped me create this International Jokes post, including YOU!
