Day 3836: Independence

On this Independence Day, I’m thinking that independence might be overrated, since we need to depend on each other in order to thrive and survive.

I depend on you to tell me if you see independence or interdependence in my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “independence” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all those I depend on this Independence Day, including YOU.

  1. I think we can find a way to be independent and still count on others, and ourselves, be dependable and hope that others will be dependable too

  2. I stayed up to watch the rerun of Jimmy Fallon interviewing Bruce Springsteen on The Today Show last night (first of three nights straight) and they gave me good vibes leading into today’s Independence Day, Ann.

  3. Happy 4th Ann! Enjoy independence day!

  4. I used to joke that my mother was a Christian who taught me to always be altruistic and give stuff away, but my father was a businessman who taught me to be independent and do everything myself without help, so I was in my 30’s before I figured out this was not a viable economic plan. I learned to ask for help when someone asked me to help them, and it made me feel included as one of her friends. Now I love being asked to help, and on occasion I can ask for it myself. So reaching out for help not only helps build community, it can help cement friendships as well.

  5. I think someone can be independent living in a cave but for freedom we need each other—we need to support and care for each other so everyone has all they need. I’ll take freedom.

  6. Tuxedo Joan makes a guest appearance😸

  7. Great sunsets posted on Independence day!

  8. I think it’s so true that independence, without understanding the necessity of interdependence, is, in my mind, shaky at best, and likely untenable. But I’m probably independent like your sweet kitties. I have an independent spirit, but many (if not most) of my needs are provided by others. LOL! Independent in my mind will have to do. 🙂
