Day 4975: Memorable

I have no idea whether these blog posts are memorable. But I can ask this question: what is most memorable about my blog post for today?

.

When I searched YouTube for “memorable” I didn’t find any videos I wanted to share. So I narrowed the search to “memorable cats.”

.

Well, I think that’s a memorable video and it’s MY blog, people.

Thanks to all who are here for this “memorable” post, including YOU!

Day 4936: The Truth

The truth is that I’ve often shared these three “secrets to life.”

  • Show up.
  • Be gentle.
  • Tell the truth.

Do you see the truth in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for the truth on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who are here for the truth, including YOU!

Day 4932: Mixed Feelings

Even if you’re having a good life, you’re bound to have mixed feelings.

Today, I have mixed feelings about July 4th, working on my music, writing an article about my groups, skipping celebrations because of the heat, and so much more.

Over my long life, I’ve learned to tolerate and accept mixed feelings without judgment.

Do you see mixed feelings in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for mixed feelings on YouTube:

Thanks to all who have mixed feelings, including YOU!

Day 4920: Recognition

What does recognition mean to you?

Here’s a definition of recognition:

.

Here’s my recognition of what other people have said about recognition.

.

I wonder if we have the simultaneous recognition that the Cartier-Bresson quote is a good segue to the rest of my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for recognition on YouTube.

.

Now it’s time for recognition of how important you are to me.

Day 4850: Good Deeds

I’ll start off today’s blog post with some quotes about good deeds.

.

When there are so few good deeds in the news these days, every good deed matters.

Do you see good deeds in my images for today?

.

Today I am going to ask my doctor about next steps for the annoying clicking noises I hear when I speak. I hope he does the good deed of referring me to somebody who can help.

Here’s what I find when I search for good deeds on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who do good deeds, including YOU!

Day 4800: Luck

Is it luck that the winter storms around here always seem to threaten the one day a week I’m supposed to work at the hospital in person?

Is it luck that I have outlived the estimates for my survival with an extremely rare heart condition?

Is it luck that I never seem to get the recognition I want for my original songs?

Is it luck that I have get to facilitate six groups a week, practicing a profession that is such a great match for my skills and values?

Is it luck that nobody can seem to cure the annoying clicking sounds I hear whenever I talk?

Is it luck that I found all these images for this blog post about luck?

.

I try to improve my luck by noticing opportunities and taking them. That’s why I responded this way to a Facebook post yesterday.

.

While I’m thinking “with my luck, nothing will come of that,” I’ll keep trying to improve my luck by putting myself out there.

You’re in luck! My protest song is available here, here, and here:

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “luck” on YouTube:

.

I am grateful for my luck and grateful for you!

Day 4787: Changing minds

Often I wonder why Trump supporters aren’t changing their minds about him.

I think this quote about changing mind explains it.

.

Do you see more about changing minds in today’s blog post?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “changing minds” on YouTube:

.

I’d like to be changing minds of those who don’t want to watch that very illuminating TED talk.

Thanks to all who are here for this changing minds post, including YOU!

Day 4650: It’s Never What You Expect

Yesterday, I had expectations about my morning therapy group and, as usual, I was reminded of something my husband says: “It’s never what you expect.”

Although it’s never what you expect, I don’t expect to completely let go of expectations. I expect that humans are hard wired to expect and assume.

Is today’s blog post what you expect?

.

.

It’s never what you expect and if I were to be a one-hit wonder, I expect it would be this.

.

It’s never what you expect but you should still expect gratitude from me!

Day 4648: Distracted

I am often distracted by what I see, hear, sense, think, and feel, so I was distracted by this sign when on my way to work yesterday.

.

I often feel distracted by other people gambling with democracy in my country.

Are you distracted by any of my images for today?

I was distracted by this t-shirt (“go with the flow” under a heart) and asked the wearer if she did echocardiograms on hearts. She does, at my old haunt — Children’s Hospital.
I’m distracted by how little engagement I get when I promote myself on social media.

.

Here’s my song “I’m Mad About You,” which I wrote when I was distracted by awful men during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination hearings in 2018.

.

What are you distracted by these days?

Thanks to all who have distracted me in good ways, including YOU!

Day 4621: Excuses

I don’t want to make excuses for having mixed feelings about excuses.

When I saw today’s Daily Bitch calendar…

.

… I knew I wanted to ask a question on social media about excuses.

.

I’m not going to make excuses for including so many responses about excuses because I love other people’s perspectives and ingenuity.

Here are some quotes about excuses:

.

Now I don’t need to any excuses to link to yesterday’s post about Make Your Own Luck Day.

My excuses for not promoting my new album more aggressively are (1) I don’t like bothering people and (2) I need a break!

Do you see any excuses in my other images for today?

.

On Just Because Day, “just because” seems like a fine excuse.

My excuses for not including “I Don’t Wanna Be Late (Don’t Wanna Be Early Either)” on my new album were (1) it was too long and (2) it needed the video context of the live concert to work. Also, a musician I know walked out on me when I was rehearsing it with him. What do you think about those excuses?

.

You don’t need to make excuses about leaving a comment, below.

Thanks to all who are here for my excuses, including YOU!
