  1. The years I worked at the public library, sharing the hopes, dreams and visions of Martin Luther King Jr. with our patrons was one of the highlights of my job, Ann.

  2. Such a great man, well worth quoting! Even his sound bites have more meaning than man men’s complete speeches. Right now the longer quote about “thing-oriented” vs. “people-oriented” really resonates…

  3. Jeanette

Lovely post! A good reminder that almost 60 years after his death we are still fighting to make that dream a reality.

  4. so important and much needed! the movie I’ve watched a number of times is ‘the gradaute’

  5. “I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.”― Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches

One of my favorites. That and “Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.”

Forgiveness especially. I have discovered that forgiveness is not about the people you forgive, but about you not bearing the burden of constant resentments. Not sure that King taught me that, but we’re on the same page.

  6. Dr. King wanted the world to be a safe place for everyone. It may seem like we’ll never get there but I think the way to honor his legacy is to keep working for that.

  7. No one needs to hear quotes from trump, I can do without his nonsense, on a daily basis, thanks news outlets!
