In my family, bragging was discouraged because that was
immodest and
invited the “evil eye.”
I don’t know if this is bragging, but I encourage people in my groups to bravely choose patterns others than those dictated by one’s family of origin, so I am creating a bragging post today.
The Daily Bitch is bragging in her own way.
Am I bragging when I share that I am very pleased with this original song?
.
Now I’m bragging that I have wonderful readers like you!
This is the usual meaning of “no news is good news”:
.
There’s no lack of news these days and it occurs to me that “no news is good news” could also mean that no good news can be found.
What news be found in my images for today?
.
Here’s what I find when I search for “no news is good news” on YouTube:
.
Thanks to Pops Staples, Siskel & Ebert, Erasmus, William Carlos Williams, my friends on Twitter, cool cats everywhere, the Daily Bitch, my husband for his amazing culinary creations, and people whose presence is always good news, including YOU!
Despite my horror at the chaos, destruction, and injustice that toxic leaders are creating in this world — which can make us feel hopeless and helpless — I still believe that 1 person can make a difference.

I hope this 1 person can make a difference by sharing images, questions, and answers in her daily blog.
.
1 person can make a difference AND (as the 1 Daily Bitch is reminding me) 1 person might need to say “can’t” at times.
I recently read an article in the New Yorker, the Washington Post, or the Atlantic (I’m too overloaded with information to remember which one) which attributed many of our current social ills to information overload and the increasing spread of misinformation. Do you see information overload in my images for today?
.
Today is also Face Your Fears Day (although the Internet says that was actually last Tuesday) and I hope to face my fears about how information overload (and EVERYTHING else) will affect the results of the USA election (three weeks from today!).
Please excuse the information overload in the previous sentence.
When I search for “information overload,” I find this …
As a psychotherapist, I often tell my patients that comparing ourselves to others leads to dissatisfaction. At the same time, comparing is a way we understand the world.
For example, our cat Harley is much more nervous than our cat Joan — a comparison that helps us be more effective when we bring them both to the vet.
Do you see comparing in today’s images?
.
I am comparing myself to the Daily Bitch and I’m happy with the comparison.
You can learn a lot — no matter how old you are — by listening, watching, staying curious, and being open to new experiences.
You can learn a lot by doing something you’ve never done before, even if it’s scary. For example, I’m learning a lot by preparing for my first concert/live album recording of my original songs.
Perhaps you can learn a lot from today’s blog post… let’s see!
.
Here‘s what I find when I search for “you can learn a lot” on YouTube:
.
You can learn a lot by experiencing gratitude, so thank to all who help me learn a lot, including YOU!
