Day 4020: Overcoming fear

As I’m preparing for my June concert/live album recording, I am working on overcoming fear about

  • performing,
  • mistakes,
  • putting my trust in others,
  • disappointment,
  • decisions,
  • speaking up for what I need, and
  • doing something new!

Do you see overcoming fear in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “overcoming fear” on YouTube:

According to Trevor Ragan, it’s not about overcoming fear, it’s about understanding and dancing with fear.

Thanks to all who helped me create this “overcoming fear” post, including YOU!

  1. I think you should only fear never having done it

Never fear!! you got this!!… you know it!

  3. Whenever I feel afraid, I hold my head up high, and since I can’t whistle, I tell myself I am a priestess of the goddess and you best not mess with me.

  4. Marie Curie made a deliberate political statement when she named one of the elements she discovered “Polonium”, calling for the liberation of Poland. It must have been frightening but she didn’t back down in the face of criticism. I’m not afraid to say I admire her for it.

That’s something to look forward. Where will you concert be, Ann?

  6. I can relate this to the fear I’d feel giving presentations during my professional career, Ann.

  7. When I read your quote, “never let fear of striking out get in your way,” I didn’t at first grasp that it was a baseball reference because I’ve never seen a baseball game. I understood the expression “striking out” to be synonymous with “setting out” or “heading off,” because that’s how I most often use it. “He struck out for the coast on a snowy Monday.” It was still quite apt!
