Is it luck that the winter storms around here always seem to threaten the one day a week I’m supposed to work at the hospital in person?
Is it luck that I have outlived the estimates for my survival with an extremely rare heart condition?
Is it luck that I never seem to get the recognition I want for my original songs?
Is it luck that I have get to facilitate six groups a week, practicing a profession that is such a great match for my skills and values?
Is it luck that nobody can seem to cure the annoying clicking sounds I hear whenever I talk?
Is it luck that I found all these images for this blog post about luck?

I try to improve my luck by noticing opportunities and taking them. That’s why I responded this way to a Facebook post yesterday.

While I’m thinking “with my luck, nothing will come of that,” I’ll keep trying to improve my luck by putting myself out there.
You’re in luck! My protest song is available here, here, and here:

I am grateful for my luck and grateful for you!

I am very lucky to have given birth to two children who I not only love very much but like a lot as well. They are both intelligent, kind and funny. My criteria for my favorite people. Yes, even my beloved son when it comes right down to it. He might make me a little crazy at times, but oh my god the alternatives! 🙂
I love that you have been that lucky, Barbara!
Fishing as a metaphor for life reminded me of something Trevor Noah said. I’m paraphrasing but he took the saying “Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” and added that you also need to give that man a pole. And a place to catch fish. Without the ability to fish the knowledge is useless. He understands, and emphasizes, how much of his success is due to luck. I think we could all use a pole and a place to fish.
Thanks for making this place better, Chris. We are all lucky to know you.
I’m happy go lucky
I’m happy we are both lucky, beth!
Luck is a very strange thing! Good luck, bad luck, it is all relevant! x
I’m lucky that you’re here, Carol Anne!
