Day 4887: Processing anger

People often talk about processing anger in my Coping and Healing groups.

When we are processing anger, I often point out that we have so few role models for processing anger, which is unfortunate during times like these (when there is so much anger to process).

One of my ways of processing anger is to write songs like I’m Mad About You …

.

… and Other People’s Anger.

.

Last night, while I was processing anger about what is happening in the USA, I asked this question about processing anger on Twitter.

.

Is anyone processing anger in my other images for today?

.

The Daily Bitch has her own way of processing anger.

How have you been processing anger?

Thanks to all who are here to witness my processing-anger post, including YOU!

Day 4648: Distracted

I am often distracted by what I see, hear, sense, think, and feel, so I was distracted by this sign when on my way to work yesterday.

.

I often feel distracted by other people gambling with democracy in my country.

Are you distracted by any of my images for today?

I was distracted by this t-shirt (“go with the flow” under a heart) and asked the wearer if she did echocardiograms on hearts. She does, at my old haunt — Children’s Hospital.
I’m distracted by how little engagement I get when I promote myself on social media.

.

Here’s my song “I’m Mad About You,” which I wrote when I was distracted by awful men during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination hearings in 2018.

.

What are you distracted by these days?

Thanks to all who have distracted me in good ways, including YOU!

Day 4606: Moods

Part of my job as a therapist is awareness of people’s moods.

In every session, I’ll ask people about their moods and document whatever they say. Typical moods are “sad,” “lonely,” “frustrated,” “anxious,” “angry,” “depressed,” “worried,” “excited,” “panicky,” “okay,” and “I don’t know.” Sometimes people tell me their mood is better at the end of the session than at the beginning, which improves MY mood.

What moods do you see in my images for today?

.

Here’s a song that I wrote when I was in a mood.

.

What is your current mood about this moods post?

I have many moods and one of them is gratitude for YOU.

Day 4437: Nervous

People are very nervous these days. The only person I know who isn’t nervous is my husband Michael, who’s been practicing a complete news blackout for months.

Sometimes when I’m nervous, I get mad at the people who are making me nervous. Yesterday, I posted this live performance of my song “I’m Mad About You” on YouTube:

.

Do any of my images for today make you nervous?

.

On my walk yesterday, I came across an event for Ruff Tales Rescue and met the nervous and adorable Little Bit. Michael and I would consider adopting a dog but we know that would make our cat Harley very, very nervous.

I get nervous about being late to work on Mondays — when I work with nervous people in-person at the hospital — so I’m going to wrap up this nervous blog post.

Thanks to all who help me deal with being nervous, including YOU!

Day 4324: Sleeps

After getting an okay night’s sleep, I just shared this tweet about sleeps on Twitter:

.

I’m not losing sleep about creeps right now and I hope that continues.

During a time change, people’s sleeps can be disturbed. During my sleep last night, I had a dream about my original songs where I expressed frustration about my ability to reach people with them.

Before I went to sleep, I posted this original song on YouTube and shared it on social media.

.

I also posted this video on TikTok:

.

I’ve never met a cat that had trouble with sleeps.

Is there anything relating to sleeps in my other images for today?

.

Rather than disturbing people’s sleeps with inflammatory language, I’m going to share that second list on Twitter today.

Many thanks to all who made it to the end of this “sleeps” blog post, including YOU!

Day 3453: I should have known better

I didn’t think that hard-won rights for women in the United States would be taken away, but I should have known better.

I didn’t think that greedy and dishonest men would take control of major parts of our government, but I should have known better.

I didn’t think I would ever be writing this post when I started blogging in 2013, but I should have known better.

I didn’t think the Daily Bitch would give me the title for today’s post, but I should have known better.

I’ve encouraged people in my Coping and Healing groups, who want to feel better, to keep a journal of “what helps” and “what doesn’t help.” In my Coping and Healing journal, #1 on my list of “what doesn’t help” is “telling myself I should have known better.” I should tell you that I created that journal before 2016, the year that a toxic narcissist became one of the most powerful people in the world. I didn’t think that was possible and I should have known better. I should have known better, also, what chaos and destruction would ensue.

I should have known better that on days that I’m feeling despair that I would have very few images to share.

I should have known better that my wonderful son’s father, Leon, would have his own day. Also, I should have known better that Summersgiving doesn’t mean giving to a vitally important organization, but I feel better on this day starting a recurring contribution to Planned Parenthood. If you want to join me, click here.

I should have known better when I wrote this song about the Supreme Court back in 2018 how many times I would have the occasion to share it.

My son Aaron thinks that’s the best song I’ve written, which I didn’t know but maybe he knows better.

I should have known better that sharing my thoughts and feelings with you would help me feel a little better (as it always does), so many thanks for being here, now.

Day 2847: Deep inner feelings

Last night, after I performed my original song “I’m Mad About You” at a remote Open Mic, Joe the M.C. mentioned deep inner feelings, which I had feelings about.

I have deep inner feelings about sharing my songs with you here on WordPress, so here’s “I’m Mad About You.”

Do you see deep inner feelings in the images I captured yesterday?

I overcame my deep inner feelings about trying something new and posted the ending of “I’m Mad About You” on TikTok this morning. We’ll see if anybody has deep inner feelings about that.

I encourage you to express any deep inner feelings in a comment, below.

My deep inner feelings always include gratitude, so thanks to all who help me share my deep inner feelings in these daily posts, including YOU!

Day 2842: I’m mad about ___

Because I’m mad about so many things right now, I’m going to perform “I’m Mad About You” — which I wrote when I was mad about the last U.S. Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings — at a remote Open Mic this Friday, October 16, 7 PM – 9 PM, EDT.

Because I’m mad about/in love with sharing my performances, here’s the link to sign up to attend that Open Mic:

You might be mad about missing your chance to see and hear “I’m Mad About You” unless you sign up by this Thursday.

Are you mad about any of my photos from yesterday?

If you’re mad about anything, VOTE!!!

I’m mad about how this photos has the word RIP in it …

… which I did.

Here‘s my performance of “I’m Mad About You” at the Jam’n Java Open Mic two years ago, on NOVEMBER 3.

Please express what you’re mad about in a comment, below.

I’m mad about collecting and expressing gratitude, so thanks to all who help me blog about all the things I’m mad about, including YOU!

Day 2133: A loud uprising

Yesterday, in a therapy group, we discussed this quote by Nikita Gill.

fullsizeoutput_3430

To love yourself should be no quiet affair, but a loud uprising. — Nikita Gill

About a month ago, when I watched a loud uprising of men’s and women’s anger about the USA’s latest Supreme Court Justice, I wrote a song — “I’m Mad About You” — which I debuted last night at an Open Mic.

In case those lyrics aren’t loud enough in that video, here they are, uprising:

I’m Mad About You

I’m mad about you.

You make me feel blue.

You make me so angry

And that isn’t new.

The things you do to enrage me,

Cage me and disengage me

Make me scream and dream of murdering you,

And I’m mad about you.

I’m mad about you.

You’re worse than the flu.

I’m pissed that you’re out there

And that’s always true.

You make me want to annoy you,

Toy with you and destroy you,

Yell and tell the horrible things that you do.

And I’m mad about you.

You may be curious

Why I’m so furious.

I’ll try to make things plain,

As I continue to womansplain.

The things you say to inflame me,

Shame me, blame me, and maim me

Should return, concern, and burn you-know who.

Because I’m mad about you.

I’m mad about you.

No, I’m not quite through.

You make me so bullshit,

I spit this at you.

I wish I could disappear you,

Never hear or be near you,

Oy, oh boy, the joy to be rid of you,

Because I’m mad, not sad, not glad, just mad about you.

© Ann Koplow, 2018

Two people yesterday told me they believe that song could go viral, which would be a loud uprising for me. Every loud uprising starts with a small sound (especially if you have only 11 subscribers on YouTube), so I’ve quietly posted that performance here.

Do you notice any loud uprisings in my other photos from yesterday?

The gentleman on the right in that last photo is Ben, who creates a loud and supportive uprising at the start of my performance of “I’m Mad About You”.

I’m looking forward to a loud uprising at the USA mid-term elections on Tuesday, November 6. I’m also looking forward to uprisings of any volume in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who helped me create the loud uprisings in today’s post and — of course! — to YOU.
