Day 4648: Distracted

I am often distracted by what I see, hear, sense, think, and feel, so I was distracted by this sign when on my way to work yesterday.

.

I often feel distracted by other people gambling with democracy in my country.

Are you distracted by any of my images for today?

I was distracted by this t-shirt (“go with the flow” under a heart) and asked the wearer if she did echocardiograms on hearts. She does, at my old haunt — Children’s Hospital.
I’m distracted by how little engagement I get when I promote myself on social media.

.

Here’s my song “I’m Mad About You,” which I wrote when I was distracted by awful men during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination hearings in 2018.

.

What are you distracted by these days?

Thanks to all who have distracted me in good ways, including YOU!

  1. So many puzzling things, Ann.

I was pleasantly distracted by the woman (I assume) in what looks like jammy bottoms and slippers on the ferry. Just what I would wear if I had an excuse. I covet the slippers. Do you get distracted often by the thought of how lucky you are to live here and get to ride this ferry to work? I used to have that thought when hiking in the mountains, awed by the fact that my house was only an hour away! And, of course, I also had that thought riding our WA state ferries with Mt. Rainier shining in the distrance.

    • I got distracted by that woman too, but she was on the Boston subway (not on the ferry). I have to ride both to get to work on Mondays. I am rarely distracted from my realization of how lucky I am, my friend.

  3. I’ve been so distracted I almost forgot today is the eleventh anniversary of the day I finished chemotherapy. Back when I started the doctor told my wife I may get “chemo brain” and that I could be forgetful and unfocused. My wife said, “How will we know it’s the chemo?”

  4. What lovely beach and marsh photos, Ann. Thank you.
