Day 5005: Next Steps

After taking so many new steps in Switzerland, it’s time for me to think about next steps.

Next steps for me include

  • Planning my next solo trip (Japan or Greece),
  • Preparing for my appearance in October on the protest song teach-out Which Side,
  • Realizing that I belong up on stages, mountains, and other high places,
  • Taking time every day to get my healing groups and music out there, and
  • Letting go of fear, guilt, and shame as soon as possible.

Do you see next steps in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I look for “next steps” on YouTube.

.

My next step is to thank everyone who helped me create today’s blog post, including YOU!

Day 4984: Hard to Believe

It’s hard to believe that

  • there are so many stupid people in positions of power,
  • I’ve been blogging for so long,
  • I’ve made it to age 73 with my very unusual heart, and
  • I’ll be traveling to Switzerland by myself in less than a week.

What’s hard to believe in my images for today?

.

It’s hard to believe how somebody I’ve know all my life isn’t willing to kiss and make up.

Here’s what I find when I search for “hard to believe” on YouTube:

.

It’s hard to believe that I have so many great followers like YOU!

Day 4977: Special

Yesterday, when I was doing my special job at a special hospital with special people, I saw this:

.

Lately, I’ve been feeling special because my special music has been getting more recognition. For example, I’ll be singing my special protest song in October at the special protest song teach-out Which Side?

.

Here is a special photo from a recent Boston Globe article about Which Side?

Do you recognize the special person on the right?

Yesterday, I felt special because somebody special in my special in-person Coping and Healing group shared that my song “I Left the House Before I Felt Ready” had made them cry.

.

I did a special a Capella performance of it in group and it had the same effect.

I guess that song must be special because the special Eric Alper chose that one to share in his special playlist of the best Indie music. Here is our special communication about that.

.

It’s nice to feel special, but also scary! Here are my other special images for today.

.

Isn’t the Daily Bitch special?

Thanks to all the special people who are here for this special post, including YOU!

Day 4970: Relax

It’s difficult to relax in this nerve-wracking world.

I relax by spending time with kind people in real life, movies, and books. I also relax by looking at nature and cats and by practicing mindfulness.

When wake up in the middle of the night, I relax and go back to sleep by listening to a video like this:

I’m going to share that video with one of my self-critical patients; I hope it helps them relax.

Try to relax as you look at my images for today.

.

It’s difficult to relax on Presidential Joke Day when we have such a joke of a President.

.

Now that I’ve finished this daily blog, I can relax and express my thanks to YOU.

Day 4921: Let It Go

Yesterday, I had a very difficult day of work at the hospital and I’m still trying to let it go.

Taking the ferry home at the end of a Monday always helps me let it go, but my difficult day kept me too late to catch the ferry, so I had to let it go.

Luckily, today is Let It Go Day!

.

Creating this daily blog of words and images is how I let it go, whatever “it” is.

It’s time to let it go!

.

When I look for “let it go” on YouTube, I find this …

.

… and this.

.

Thanks to Ash Beckham, cool cats everywhere, and everyone who is here for this let-it-go post, including YOU!

Day 4914: Wish Fulfillment

In my therapy groups, we sometimes discuss wish fulfillment by using magic wands.

.

I’ve heard the saying “be careful what you wish for” but I think it helps to encourage wish fulfillment.

Now, I wish to share that today is Wish Fulfillment Day!

.

Do you see wish fulfillment in my images for today?

Wish fulfillment à la The Daily Bitch.

When I search for “wish fulfillment” on YouTube, I find this…

.

… and this.

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about wish fulfillment?

Thanks to all who help me with wish fulfillment, including YOU!

Day 4886: Curiosity

Every day, I try to approach life with an attitude of curiosity.

Do you have any curiosity about the curiosities I’m about to share?

.

There are many TED talks about curiosity. Any curiosity about why I chose this one?

.

Thanks to all who are here with curiosity, including YOU!

Day 4690: Lessons learned

Lessons learned by me include:

  • There are no “shoulds” about feelings,
  • It’s never (or rarely) what you expect,
  • I tend to catastrophizing (yesterday I was certain Joan the cat had gotten out and had been eaten by a coyote),
  • It’s okay to promote yourself (e.g., my linking to my song “Catastrophizing” in the previous bullet point),
  • Changes (like resetting the clocks and the Epic medical record system I have to use at work) can cause disruption and frustration,
  • I can survive my own and other people’s mistakes, and
  • I can start sharing pictures on this blog with a minimum of introductory text.

Do you see any lessons learned in my images for today?

.

On Use Your Common Sense Day, I am going to use my common sense to vote and to look up “lessons learned” on YouTube:

Thanks to all who have helped me with lessons learned, including YOU!

Day 4683: Waves

Hello! 👋

Welcome to my blog post about waves.

Last night, as I was waiting for waves of sleep, I heard a helpful tale comparing thoughts to waves 🌊.

👋 The story about waves starts at 3:00.

.

Who else finds that the story about waves 🌊 brings waves of peace and acceptance?

Are you ready for my other images for this waves post?

.

I wonder what kinds of waves there are on other planets.

👋 Thanks to all who are here for this waves post, including YOU!

Day 4662: Resplendent

When I shared the cover for my new single “Artificial Intelligence” yesterday on Twitter, a friend said I was resplendent.

.

Here’s a definition of “resplendent.”

.

Yesterday morning, this resplendent person was very grouchy about having to leave her home so early to get a flu shot at the hospital before she started her work day. The grouchiness went away when I saw the resplendent moon.

.

Here are my other resplendent images for today’s blog post.

.

I’ve loved noodle dishes since my resplendent mother’s resplendent tuna noodle casserole. Indeed, I’ve started writing a parody of the resplendent Stevie Wonder song “Part Time Lover” called “Pasta Lover.”

©️ Ann Koplow, 2025

.

I need to include today’s resplendent list of holidays and observances …

.

… and the resplendent Daily Bitch Calendar.

.

Yesterday morning, I sang my song “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole” to the ticket taker as we stood alone on the resplendent top deck of the ferry. It reminded us of the ending of this resplendent scene from Funny Girl.

.

Thanks to all my resplendent readers, including YOU!
