Day 5001: Ideal Vacations

Now that I’m back in my ideal home in Massachusetts, I can safely say that my recent solo adventure in Switzerland was one of my ideal vacations.

For me, what makes an ideal vacation?

  • Quality time with someone I love (in this case, me!).
  • Non-stop flights.
  • Traveling the country side.
  • Great views.
  • Beautiful sounds, including music.
  • Local animals.
  • Interesting architecture.
  • Art.
  • Quiet moments.
  • Yummy food.
  • Challenging old fears (like my fears of heights, getting lost, and shame).
  • Engaging with kind strangers.
  • No pressure.
  • Gaining new perspectives.
  • The freedom to come and go as I please.
  • Maintaining connections and routines that are important to me (like blogging).
  • An escape from non-stop news about despicable world leaders.
  • Not a lot of painful inclines or bugs!
  • Approaching new experiences with beginner’s mind.

Here is a brief video from my ideal vacation which I may not have shared here before.

.

Do you see ideal vacations in my other images for today?

The food I have on my ideal vacations can’t beat my husband’s home-made masterpieces.

No matter what my ideal vacation, I always take the Daily Bitch along.

What is your ideal vacation?

Thanks to all who joined me for this ideal-vacations post, including YOU!

Day 4531: What I’m Doing With My Life

What I’m doing with my life is

  • Spending more time with people (and other creatures) I love,
  • Spending less time with people who are soul-sucking,
  • Doing six therapy groups every week,
  • Working on my music,
  • Speaking up for what I believe,
  • Letting go of fear,
  • Eating delicious food while trying to stay healthy,
  • Asking questions,
  • Staying exquisitely aware of my own (and others’) mortality, and
  • Blogging every day.

Can you see what I’m doing with my life in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I look for “what I’m doing with my life.”

.

What are you doing with your life?

What I’m doing with my life includes expressing gratitude every day, so thanks to all who are here, now, including YOU!

Day 4262: Hopes and Dreams

My hopes and dreams include:

  • Narcissistic, ineffective, and destructive leaders leaving the world stage,
  • Justice prevailing over injustice,
  • Spending more time with those I love and less time with those I don’t,
  • Continuing to provide group therapy to those who benefit from it,
  • Worrying less, and
  • Getting my original songs out there to a wider audience.

Do you see hopes and dreams in my images for today?

.

I’m grateful that my hopes and dreams are not the same as the Daily Bitch’s.

Here’s what I find when I search for “hopes and dreams” on YouTube.

.

What are your hopes and dreams?

Thanks to all who are here for this hopes-and-dreams post, including YOU!

Day 4219: These Days

These days I’m doing my best to focus on my priorities, including work, music, health, people I love, hope, comfort, cats, and sharing.

.

These days I’m really appreciating my friends and John Lennon.

.

Thanks to all who are sharing these days with me, including YOU.

Day 3845: Simplify

While I’m very busy, I’m also trying to simplify my life.

It helps me simplify to remember that the secret of life is three things:

  • Show up.
  • Be gentle (with others and yourself).
  • Tell the truth.

To tell the truth, my husband and I have been watching Tiny House Hunting, where people simplify their lives by downsizing dramatically.

I’m now trying to simplify a thought I’m having about how I simplify my life: I spend my time doing things I value with people I love.

I shall now simplify this blog post.

.

I shall now simplify myself by embracing the labels “Gruntled Worker” and “Passionate Cat Lady.”

Here‘s Young the Giant with “Simplify.”

.

Thanks to all who help me simplify, including YOU.

Day 3619: Mind changes

I’ve been going through mind changes about several things lately, including:

  • home remodeling details,
  • a support group I’m trying to get started for the doctors where I work,
  • balancing my needs with other people’s needs,
  • social media,
  • prioritizing contentment over happiness,
  • food choices,
  • exercise,
  • masking, and
  • travel.

I have NOT been going through mind changes about my core values, which include authentic connection with others during the precious time we have together on this earth.

Do you see mind changes in my images for today?

Originally I was going to call this blog post “The Little Things,” but I had a mind change about that.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “mind changes.”

.

Thanks to all who experience mind changes, including YOU!

Day 2408: How many lives do we have?

How many lives do we have?

I assume each of us has only one life.  So what do we each want to do with our one, precious life?  What do we want to do to preserve the precious, one life of others?

This past weekend in the USA too too many people lost their one lives because of gun violence. I am going to spend the rest of my one life doing whatever I can to stop the madness of such easy access to assault weapons — weapons designed to end as many lives as possible as quickly as possible.

This weekend, when so many lives were lost,  I spent my one life with those I love doing what I love — the priority for every single day of my one precious life.

How many photos do we have?

Because I don’t have nine lives,  I don’t smoke and I try to live healthy.   I owe it to myself and to those who love me.

When I search YouTube for “How Many Lives Do We Have?” I find this:

How many thoughts and feelings do you have, here and now?  I look forward to reading every one of my readers’ comments.

How much gratitude do I have for those who helped me create this post and for you?

Day 2045: Priorities

It’s been over five years since I’ve written a post about priorities,  and writing another one is my priority today.

With the overwhelming amount of information and responsibilities that many of us have, setting priorities can be difficult.

For example, what are the priorities among all the headlines in my Google news feed? Let’s see.

I assume that, depending upon your priorities, your Google news feed might be prioritized differently.

My priorities, here and now, include letting you know that

  1. The news item of the highest priority for me appears eighth from the bottom of that list and
  2. Another personal top-priority news item (today’s special election in Ohio) doesn’t even show up in my Google news feed.

One of my priorities in this blog is including a YouTube video that connects to the post title:

Another one of my priorities for these daily blog posts is sharing my photos from the day before:

Day 1938: Paramount

Yesterday, I was near the Paramount Theater in downtown Boston.

Today, it is paramount that I facilitate an all-day retreat for group therapists, where we’ll be talking about paramount issues.

Therefore, I am going to post all my photos of the Paramount  and let you decide which of the photos is paramount for you.

But first, an accurate definition of “paramount” might be paramount at this point.

par·a·mount
ˈperəˌmount
adjective
more important than anything else; supreme.
“the interests of the child are of paramount importance”
synonyms: most important, of greatest/prime importance

Finding one’s purpose is often paramount, no matter how difficult or funny it is.

Because some people think it’s paramount for me to include a video in these blog posts, here’s the result of my search on YouTube for “paramount song”:

It’s not paramount that you leave a comment, but it is paramount for me to thank Boston’s Paramount Theater, the Paramount School of Excellence, and — of course! — YOU.

Day 1426: What’s important?

What’s important?

Is it important that I’m returning to work next week after a two-month medical leave?

Is it important who occupies the White House?

Is it important that I make my own t-shirts?

Is it important that Fidel Castro died?

Is it important that I blog everyday, unless I am incapable of doing so?

Is nature important?

Is television important?

Is kindness important?

Are cupcakes important?

Is communication important?

Are pets important?

Are holidays important?

Are possessions important?

Are celebrities important?

Are you important?

Am I important?

Are people who are different from you and me important?

Are any of my photos from yesterday important?

Is it important that I watched Carrie Fisher on Stephen Colbert‘s Late Show and then in The Empire Strikes Back yesterday?

Is it important what music I include in these posts?

What’s important to me is what’s important to you, here and now.

Important thanks to all the important ones who contributed to this post and to you — of course! — because you are important, no matter what you think or feel.
