Day 4218: Priorities

Last week in therapy, somebody expressed profound sadness about never being anybody else’s first priority.

Because one of my priorities is my work, I listened, validated her feelings, pointed out how we can’t control what other people do or feel, and asked if she were her own first priority. Then we discussed how she could prioritize herself better.

What priorities do you see in my images for today?

.

Living in the present is definitely one of my priorities.

Here’s what I find when I search for “priorities” on YouTube:

.

One of my priorities is music, so I’ll also share “Priorities” by Tyla:

.

Another one of my priorities is expressing gratitude, so thanks to all who are here for this Priorities Post, including YOU!

I put off until today what I didn’t feel like doing yesterday, so today yesterday is my priority. Tomorrow’s priority will likely include a bit of what I wanted to do today. It’s not much. As long as yesterday doesn’t become tomorrow, it’s all good. 🙂

  5. Well put, Mark

  6. For a while I had a daily planner, but I didn’t use it for planning ahead. I took time at the end of each day to jot down how that day had been. I think I need to go back to that. It was a good way to focus on my own feelings even for a few minutes.

  8. Love this topic! Today, I prioritized doing a little laundry and vacuuming, when I had little energy to do it. The reward of have clean sheets and a clean floor was worth it. “Stop expecting you from other people.” Absolutely!! Nobody’s going to come and rescue/save/fix me except for me. And nobody’s going to jump into my head, read my mind, see the world the way I do, and do things the way I would, and the more I not only realize this but am ok with it, the happier I am.
