Day 5018: Happy Places

I’ve been trying to expand my happy places, so that I feel happy and relaxed in places that usually make me nervous (like heights and performance stages).

I’m happy to be listening to this book, which I hope will expand my happy places when I perform my music.

.

The Inner Game method helps people increase their happy places by letting go of self consciousness and negative self talk while paying close, non-judgmental attention to performance in the moment.

Before I discovered the happy places of the inner game method this morning, I asked a question about happy places on social media last night.

.

Right here, right now, what happy places do you see in my other images I am happy to share?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “happy places” on YouTube.

.

What are your happy places?

Thanks to all who make this blog one of my happy places, including YOU!

Day 4960: Voices of Reason

Voices of reason are few and far between these days, especially if you listen to the news.

That’s the reason I asked about voices of reason on social media last night.

.

I have mixed feelings about ChatGPT but sometimes it can be a voice of reason.

.

Are there voices of reason elsewhere in today’s blog?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “voices of reason” on YouTube:

Eleanor Longden is a powerful voice of reason.

Thanks to all the voices of reason out there, including YOU!

Day 4736: Mistakes

When I make mistakes, that affects my self esteem, which is a mistake, because we all make mistakes.

I’ve made mistakes, apparently, dealing with the annoying noises I’ve been hearing in my head for two years whenever I speak or sing. Unless I’m mistaken, other people don’t get annoyed with the noises I make whenever I speak or sing, which is good.

Do you see any mistakes in my images for today?

.

I’m still making mistakes when I play my new holiday song, but I’m going to try to create a good enough version of it with GarageBand today.

Here’s what I find when I search for “mistakes” on YouTube:

Thanks to all who are here for my mistakes, including YOU!!

Day 4687: The Best Part

The best part of the day is waking up and realizing that I am still alive.

The best part of being born with a rare heart condition is appreciating every day.

The best part of November 1 is no more scary movies everywhere!

What’s the best part of this blog post?

The best part of ChatGPT is that it can take a hint.
The best part of this email is that they still want me on the podcast, even though it won’t be recording on November 7.

.

The best part of that list might be Give Up Your Shoulds Day.

.

The best part of my live show might have been my poem “Hard To Say.”

.

Nevertheless, I decided not to include “Hard to Say” on my live album. The best part about that is that I could release it as a single in the future (perhaps with an endorsement by Ferrero Rocher).

Perhaps the best part of this blog is the ending.

Day 4659: Smiles

Yesterday, I was talking to a social work intern about letting smiles and other facial expressions show when facilitating a therapy group. I have never been a “blank slate” kind of therapist. I am aware, however, that smiles might seem jarring to somebody who is feeling traumatized, triggered, or despairing, so my smiles disappear when I witness somebody’s pain.

I look for smiles when I share my songs like Artificial Intelligence, which will be released as a single on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. on November 7.

I hope those non-artificial percussion tracks — which I did by clicking my tongue and popping my cheek — get smiles.

The good news is that my coach Jeff Leisawitz was all smiles yesterday when he reacted to my music and suggested that I reach out to mental-health-oriented podcasts to get my songs out there.

There are definitely smiles in my images for today.

.

In my defense, I’m hungry to share my music, and I think this song gets the most smiles.

.

Thanks to all who are here, now, for the smiles, including YOU!

Day 3218: What’s a good title?

What’s a good title for this post?

What’s a good title for your autobiography?

People shared many good titles for their autobiographies in response to my question, last night, on Twitter. At this point, my good titles for my autobiography include

  • A Very Unusual Heart
  • The Backwards Heart
  • It Takes One To Know One
  • Assault and Batteries
  • That Must Have Been Scary

I reserve the right to come up with more good titles before I actually write it.

What’s a good title for today’s collection of images?

What’s a good title for this precious day?

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “What’s a good title?”

What’s a good ending for this “What’s a Good Title?” blog post?

Day 1897: Attention

Do I have your attention?

During the first year of this blog, I published two posts about attention (here and here).  If you give those early posts attention, you might notice how my blog has changed.  These days, I give more attention to photos, like this.

I also give attention to

  • books,
  • interesting architecture,
  • food,

IMG_7549.JPG

  • singing,

  • people,
  • work,
  • not being late (which I dreamed about last night, and
  • music.

Personally, I have trouble paying attention the day after a time change.  How is your attention, these days?

Thanks to all who helped me give the necessary attention to today’s blog and — of course!  — to YOU, for your attention.
