Day 4687: The Best Part

The best part of the day is waking up and realizing that I am still alive.

The best part of being born with a rare heart condition is appreciating every day.

The best part of November 1 is no more scary movies everywhere!

What’s the best part of this blog post?

The best part of ChatGPT is that it can take a hint.
The best part of this email is that they still want me on the podcast, even though it won’t be recording on November 7.

.

The best part of that list might be Give Up Your Shoulds Day.

.

The best part of my live show might have been my poem “Hard To Say.”

.

Nevertheless, I decided not to include “Hard to Say” on my live album. The best part about that is that I could release it as a single in the future (perhaps with an endorsement by Ferrero Rocher).

Perhaps the best part of this blog is the ending.

Day 4303: Giving

In a world where some people are all about taking, I love giving my time to beautifully giving people like my life-long friend, Barbara.

.

That photo was taken by a giving guy who was also giving his attention to three dogs.

.

Barbara and I have been giving each other support for close to 70 years and I’m always giving thanks for my friendship with her.

.

Yesterday we were both giving thanks for nature giving us such a beautiful day.

.

Do you see giving in my other images for today?

.

On Good Samaritan Day and Treat Yo’ Self Day, I’m giving a shout out to giving to others AND to yourself.

My giving music producer Riccardo Pearlman is giving me clips like this to share on TikTok:

.

After giving some time to that, I just posted it on TikTok! I need to be giving more thought about how to get more traction there.

Here’s a link to my current TikTok profile:

Any comments about this giving blog post or advice about TikTok you might be giving below?

As usual, I’m giving thanks to all my wonderful readers, including YOU!

Day 1746: Appropriate

Is it appropriate for me to tell you that I’ve never written a blog post with the word “appropriate” in the title before? It is appropriate to reveal the inspiration for today’s title?

That’s a sign for a parking lot where I work. I don’t park there. Does that mean I’m not appropriate?

When I read the news these days, I see a lot of inappropriate behavior, which contributes to my  sense of chaos. Is it appropriate to ask whether we can agree on what behaviors are appropriate?

Are these photos appropriate?

Is it appropriate to discuss stool/poop in mixed company? Is it appropriate to use the term “mixed company”?  Was it appropriate for Michael and I to both wear that cat head at Target and then not buy it? Is it appropriate for me to share what I write during group therapy sessions about topics like self esteem? Is it appropriate for me to reveal that one of the group members talked about “dumb asses” before I wrote down some thoughts about self esteem?

Is it appropriate for me to bombard my readers with so many questions?

Is it appropriate for me to use this photo to introduce today’s music?

Please leave an appropriate comment below.

Can we agree that gratitude is an appropriate way to end all of my daily blog posts?

Day 1644: What is the name of this post?

Hello, my name is Ann and I think the name of this post should be

IMG_1951

“Projects” (because I’m doing lots of projects as I prepare for the move to our new home),

IMG_1965

“Magic” (because I see magic everywhere),

IMG_1952

“Fun to Know and Easy to Love” (because people in my life are fun to know and easy to love), or

IMG_1978

“1 in a Million” (because we’re all one in a million).

What do YOU think the name of this post should be?

That’s the Halloween costume my son, whose name is Aaron, wore many years ago. Carrying a spray bottle, Aaron asked people to name what he was, spritzed them with water and said, “I’m partly cloudy with a chance of showers.”

I’m thinking that the title of this post should be “1 in a Million” because, on a 1 in a million chance, I reconnected with an old friend yesterday, who is a 1-in-a-million musician and a 1-in-a-million friend, David Smith, whom I first met at the Berklee summer program in 1969.

Here‘s my old friend Dave conducting the Clarksville Middle School Wind Ensemble:

Actually, perhaps the name of this post should be “Reverberations.”

No matter what your name is, what do you think the name of this post should be?

As always, the name of today’s post could be “Thanks,” because that’s what I’m feeling, here and now.
