Yesterday, I made many choices while using GarageBand to record my new “Holiday Song.” So far, my choices include a vocal track and a ukulele track. Today, I’ll make other choices to create other tracks before I release the single.
One of my choices yesterday was to perform the song and post it on TikTok:
.
I hope people’s choices include sharing that song as best they can, because it supports whatever choices people make about holidays.
In the evening, I ran into my dear friend Barbara’s dear friend Amy because we had both made similar choices about where to dine, which was my favorite restaurant, Brassica Kitchen. Every day, Amy makes the choice to read this blog, so Hello, Amy!!!
What choices do you notice in my images for today?

.
My reading and TV-watching choices lately have included the author and activist Lindy West:
.
Thanks to all whose choices include visiting this blog, including YOU!

nice holiday song, Anne! Happy holidays! X
Thanks so much, Carol Anne, and happy holidays to you!
I’m choosing to bake three kinds of cookies for Christmas: oatmeal/chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, and jam thumbprints. I make up little bags of “neighbor cookies” because a) I like to do that and b) my son is diabetic. He eats a few, but mostly I would have to eat the lionesses share all by myself. I hope my neighbors aren’t too disappointed (they’ll surely miss the thumbprints) if next year I decide to only bake one recipe of thumbprints and eat most of them myself. I’m finding it a little taxing this year (purely physical/structural issues), and may give up neighbor cookies. Sigh.
You’re doing the best you can as you make choices, Barbara.
my choice was to look through them and enjoy them. and my choices today will be to adjust as I go, follow my instincts )
Great choices, beth.
I’ve shared your song with friends who convinced me to get the TikTok app and I hope they enjoy it. Your chord choices are very interesting to me. I had a ukulele lesson tonight and my teacher told me there’s one part where I could choose not to use a barre chord. But I want to be true to the song.
And it’s funny to me that after at least two people said baklava was their favorite holiday food when last night I drove half an hour to a new place for Greek food, including baklava. If flan had been on the menu I would have gotten that too. It’s hard for me to choose between desserts.
I would always choose your thoughtful responses, my good friend.

My dear wife Karen is going to make prime rib and ham with many sides this holiday, Ann, and we are going to enjoy the delicious meal with the kids.
I love the choices you share, Mark.
