Day 4037: Acceptance

As I look at a difficult week ahead, I am practicing acceptance, which is easier said than done.

What acceptance can we find in today’s images?

.

When I search for acceptance on YouTube I find this …

… and this:

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about acceptance?

Please accept my heartfelt thanks to you.

Day 4027: Peculiar

Yesterday’s blog post was about favorite words and one of my favorite words is “peculiar.”

.

One of my favorite songs is “Ain’t That Peculiar.”

.

Here are some peculiar quotes:

.

Today is the birthday of my ex-husband, Leon, and some people might think it peculiar that we are such good friends and that he reads my blog. He has a peculiar habit of sometimes looking at only the pictures so he might miss this: “Happy Birthday, Leon!”

What’s peculiar about the rest of my images for today?

Is that a peculiar way of managing stress?

Thanks to all who visit this peculiar blog, including YOU!

Day 3974: Record

Thanks for joining me as I record my thoughts and feelings for 3974th time in this daily blog.

Yesterday, I decided to record the amazing progress my husband Michael has made in restoring a painted-over tin ceiling in our home.

Since I made that video record yesterday morning, he’s installed all the rest of the stripped tin pieces. Here and now, I would like to officially record my gratitude, admiration, and love for my husband Michael (previously known here as my boyfriend Michael).

Today I’ll be checking out a venue in Cambridge where I plan to record a live album of my original songs around the time of my 50th college reunion in May.

For the record, I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m having all sorts of feelings about it.

Here are the rest of my images for this record post.

.

I don’t make up those daily holidays, I just record them. And I hope you don’t have a record bad day on Have a Bad Day Day.

Feel free to record your reactions to this “record” post in the comments section, below, and, as always, I want to record my thanks to YOU.

Day 3885: Moggies

Do you know what moggies are? Spellcheck doesn’t and keeps wanting to change “moggies” to “doggies.”

Some people might say that moggies are the opposite of doggies.

Here’s another hint: Moggies show up in this bloggie all the time.

Do you see any moggies in today’s post?

.

My vision board would definitely have pictures of moggies. And I’m very grateful we don’t have to take our moggies to the vet today.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for moggies.

.

Because he didn’t actually answer the posed question “Why are cats called moggies?” here’s a definition.

Actually that doesn’t answer the question of why cats are called “moggies” either. While I look for that on the Internet, here’s another picture of our moggies.

Last night, one of our moggies made another spectacular leap off a piece of furniture, chasing our other moggie. One of these days, I’m going to capture a video of those moggies and their hilarious play and maybe, just maybe, finally go viral.

I can’t find an answer, here and now, as to why mixed breed cats are called moggies, but I swear that I read somewhere that it’s short for “mongrel.”

What are your thoughts and feelings about this “moggies” post?

Thanks to all the wonderful moggies and people in my life, including YOU.

Day 3828: Observances

Here and now, my observances include the following:

  • I’m glad my son is spending the next month with friends in Europe before he starts a PhD program in mathematics,
  • I want to write an article or book about my Coping and Healing groups,
  • I love every Beatles song but there’s one I love just a little bit more,
  • I don’t mind getting old,
  • Cats are everywhere, even in my dreams, and
  • Forgiveness can be very healing.

What other observances can you find in today’s blog post?

Out of all those observances, the one I’m wondering about is Please Take My Children to Work Day.

Here’s what I find when I search for “observances” on YouTube.

I look forward to reading your observances in the comments section below.

Thanks to all who have observances, including YOU!

Day 3822: Stochastic

“Stochastic” seems like a great title for today’s stochastic blog post.

My stochastic thoughts now include wondering whether I should replace the word “random” with “stochastic,” as in “that’s so stochastic” and “who’s that stocho who was just talking to you?”

Here are my stochastic images for the day.

.

The Daily Bitch is so stochastic.

Here’s what I find when I search for “stochastic” on YouTube:

.

Is it stochastic that this video also showed up …

.

… and then this one?

.

Stochastic thanks to all who help me create my stochastic posts, including YOU!

Day 3763: Big Word Day

Yesterday, due to a miscalculation, aberration, inaccuracy, erratum, or whatever word you want to call it, I posted the wrong compendium of diurnal commemorations, including Big Word Day.

Please accept my unfeigned and ingenuous atonement for that happenchance.

Do you see any capacious or humongous words in my images for the bona fide Big Word Day?

The Daily Bitch seems rather lugubrious on Big Word Day.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “Big Word Day.”

I’m looking forward to every small, medium, and big word people choose to share in the comments section, below.

Thanks, gratitude, and appreciativeness for all who help me find my words in this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 3762: Salmagundi

This is titled “Salmagundi” because today is Big Word Day* and this blog is my salmagundi of thoughts, feelings, and images.

After experiencing a salmagundi of veterinarians over my long life, I can say that Dr. Jeffrey Evans of Boston Animal Hospital is one of the best I’ve ever met. Yesterday, while Harley was hiding in a corner and Joan was exploring the salmagundi in the exam room, Dr. Evans greeted us with “How’s the family?” After taking a long time to kindly and thoroughly discuss a salmagundi of cat health topics with us, he sent us home very happy (Joan especially, because he discontinued the irritating eye treatments and said she should heal on her own naturally).

I didn’t take a picture of Dr. Evans to add to this post’s salmagundi, but I found these amongst the salmagundi on the internet:

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “salmagundi.”

What is your favorite among today’s salmagundi of images? I look forward to the salmagundi of comments, below.

A salmagundi of thanks to all those who help me create this daily salmagundi, including YOU!

* Today is actually not Big Word Day, but my brain is such a salmagundi that I thought today was the 21st instead of the 20th. Here’s the correct list for today;

Also, in celebration of Look Alike Day, WordPress published two copies of this post. What a salmagundi of mistakes!

* After I published this post, I realized that because my brain is such a salmagundi of thoughts, I had the date wrong. Here’s the correct list for April 20 2023:

I swear I wasn’t smoking pot on 4/20; my mind is just a natural salmagundi.

Day 3756: Corybantic

Because today is Dictionary Day, what’s your guess for what “corybantic” might mean?

Before you get all corybantic trying to figure that out, here’s the answer:

Yesterday, after I gave a presentation to the nurses at my hospital about my groups which help people be less corybantic in the midst of corybantic circumstances, the power at several Boston hospitals, including mine, went out for several hours. Lest you get corybantic about how that affected patient care, I’ll remind you that hospitals are equipped to deal with such things with emergency generators and back up plans. However, I momentarily got corybantic when I couldn’t access my office computer from home, but then I realized there were work-arounds for that so I could still schedule people for my two online patient groups.

And even though we were afraid that our cat Joan would become corybantic when we put antibiotic ointment in her eyes (wouldn’t you?), the burrito technique I described in yesterdays blog post worked!

I will say that even when I have a corybantic day, blogging and sharing my thoughts with you definitely reduces my corybanticy.

Do you see anything corybantic in my images for today?

How corybantic are you feeling now? Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “corybantic.”

Corybantic thanks to all who help me be less corybantic, including YOU!
