Here and now, my observances include the following:
- I’m glad my son is spending the next month with friends in Europe before he starts a PhD program in mathematics,
- I want to write an article or book about my Coping and Healing groups,
- I love every Beatles song but there’s one I love just a little bit more,
- I don’t mind getting old,
- Cats are everywhere, even in my dreams, and
- Forgiveness can be very healing.
What other observances can you find in today’s blog post?

Out of all those observances, the one I’m wondering about is Please Take My Children to Work Day.
Here’s what I find when I search for “observances” on YouTube.
I look forward to reading your observances in the comments section below.
Thanks to all who have observances, including YOU!

I have observed that chickens might make good stand up comedians. My fav Beatles- while my guitar gently weeps.’
You are very observant, beth.
I eagerly await you completing your coping and anxiety book or article, Ann. You’ve never met a self-set challenge you haven’t conquered, as far as I can tell from this past decade of friendship.
Oh, and as for my favorite Beatles song … now that’s a task! I’ll go with the fantastic medley of “Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End” because it somehow give me three wondrous segments that make the hallowed whole. And, well, in all of my years, when I feel crabby, I can only hope that the ending line “the love you take is equal to the love you make” pops into my head.
I eagerly await your helpful observances, my friend, and thank you!
I observed that your cats have claws and that the chicken should be telling chicken jokes, not old people jokes. I’ve never been a huge Beatles fan, but can never keep myself from singing along to “Hey Jude.”
I appreciate all your observances!
“I Feel Fine” is the perfect start to a busy morning, Ann. Thanks.
I hope that Aaron has a wonderful time in Europe with his friends.
I feel fine about another observant comment from you, my friend.
I can’t see my critter feeding station from my office, but observing that someone has been busy at the suet feeder, that birds have eaten a half inch or so from the seed tube, and that whoever has been munching on peanuts and sunflower seeds from the table as well as enjoying the water basin makes me happy that the little ones are getting fed whether I am observing them doing so or not.
I observe that you are very kind, Barbara.
If not for God’s gift of observance, there would be no scientists.
Beatles favorite: “She loves you”.
-Alan
Thanks for your observances, Alan.
My neighbor is a really big Beatles fan and I’m pretty sure he observes Global Beatles Day every day, but I’d like to ask him what his favorite Beatles song is. My own would have to be the utterly bonkers…
Thanks for all of this, my observant friend.
I love the Beatles entire catalogue, but I always say that “Eleanor Rigby” is my favorite. The reason is I remember being in my mother’s car and hearing it the first time over a scratchy Am/Fm radio and I was just enthralled with the heavy use of string instruments. I loved the sound, and had not previously tuned into the sound of violins with “my music.” It was just a turning point in the way I listened. I think I was about 14. A fun memory, so thank you, Ann!
Thank you for your wonderful observances, Debra!
