Do you know what moggies are? Spellcheck doesn’t and keeps wanting to change “moggies” to “doggies.”
Some people might say that moggies are the opposite of doggies.
Here’s another hint: Moggies show up in this bloggie all the time.
Do you see any moggies in today’s post?

.
My vision board would definitely have pictures of moggies. And I’m very grateful we don’t have to take our moggies to the vet today.
Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for moggies.
.
Because he didn’t actually answer the posed question “Why are cats called moggies?” here’s a definition.

Actually that doesn’t answer the question of why cats are called “moggies” either. While I look for that on the Internet, here’s another picture of our moggies.

Last night, one of our moggies made another spectacular leap off a piece of furniture, chasing our other moggie. One of these days, I’m going to capture a video of those moggies and their hilarious play and maybe, just maybe, finally go viral.
I can’t find an answer, here and now, as to why mixed breed cats are called moggies, but I swear that I read somewhere that it’s short for “mongrel.”
What are your thoughts and feelings about this “moggies” post?
Thanks to all the wonderful moggies and people in my life, including YOU.

“Moggies” is a wonderful word and I’m going to use it. Thanks! I did not guess the meaning correctly when you posed the question. My guess would have been “snoozing cats.”
I hope you and your moggies have a lovely day, Ann
Thanks for another wonderful comment, Moggie-loving Maureen.
I guessed it right but looked it up anyway. Used to have 5 moggies. Signed my Christmas cards “Barbara and the Pussycats.” Friend told me that cats leave scratches on doors that read, “Sucker lives here.” I was proud to me a moggie mom for all the time I had with them. Razz, Mamacita, Simba, Yoda, and Elvis. Whadda crew!
Thanks for sharing your moggies, Barbara.
I only learned the word a few years ago through an Australian blogging friend who often referred to her moggies. At the time I had to learn through context and I was a bit confused. It’s a great word, however, isn’t it? I love your moggies, Ann. 😉
I love your comments, Debra.
I find it hard to accept “moggies” because I think every cat is remarkable in some way.
Thanks for another remarkable comment, Chris.
is ‘moggie’ the feline version of ‘mutt’? I believe that all humans qualify as moggies as well and that’s a good thing
We are all mutts here, beth.
I think Joan just finished playing her cover version of ‘Cat’s in the Cradle,’ Ann. And to me it sounds like moggies is a wonderful word that first came out of the mouth of somebody that speaks with an Irish brogue. Another wild conjecture on this end.
Thanks for all your conjectures, my friend.
