Day 4601: Technology

Yesterday, I was angry, helpless, and hopeless about using technology to release my first album the way I wanted.

However, a customer service rep finally responded to my pleas about my experience with his company’s technology like a human being, which really helped.

.

It’s not so bad dealing with technology when somebody hears you and tries to help.

When I was blogging yesterday morning, technology seemed to be thwarting me everywhere.

.

Let’s see if technology allows me to share my parody song “Technology” today.

.

Technology is giving me the same “This video is unavailable” error message as I’m writing this but we’ll see if it works after I publish this post.

Sometimes you just need to ignore technology and keep on being yourself.

Can you see my trying to take a break from technology in my images for today?

.

(shrug)

Thanks to all who help me deal with technology, including YOU!

Day 4533: Peeved

Even though I try to go for it every day, sometimes I get peeved.

.

People in my therapy groups vent about being peeved, annoyed, irritated, miffed, nettled, riled, roiled, steamed, and stung about many things, including medical systems these days.

,

Sometimes, I’m not even sure what I’m peeved about, but chances are it includes technology.

I hope nobody’s peeved that I like sharing my songs here, including this one:

.

Can you tell I was peeved as I captured images yesterday?

.

I’m grateful to wake up everyday, but some days (like today) I wake up peeved.

What helps me when I’m peeved? Naming it. Sharing it (like in this blog). Realizing I’m not alone. Recognizing that I’ve been peeved before and this too shall pass.

Right now, I’m peeved that I have to drive a long distance, again, to deal with the fact that I can’t see well out of my new glasses. I’m peeved that I know so little about getting my songs out there. I’m peeved that I get stymied by technology when I try to do many things online. I’m peeved that the current administration is hell bent on taking away fundamental rights from the kind of people who attend my therapy groups. I’m peeved that so many people voted (again!) for an obviously toxic narcissist.

I’m peeved there are so many things to be peeved about these days.

What are you peeved about?

Thanks to everyone who is here for this peeved post, including YOU!

Day 4502: Honesty

Honestly, honesty is in short supply these days.

Why can’t the media show more honesty and courage in their coverage of all the lies that powerful politicians perpetuate?

What’s so difficult about honesty?

If people could overcome denial and fear and show more honesty, we’d have a lot more superheroes.

Do you see honesty in my images for today?

.

Happy Honesty Day, everybody!

.

I wonder what M. Hirsch Goldberg thinks about Honesty Day, 2025.

Here’s Billy Joel’s song “Honesty” …

.

… and here’s my parody song where I’m expressing honesty about “Technology.”

.

I look forward to your honesty in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who are here for this honesty post, including YOU!

Day 4403: The Age of Nefarious

Now that nefarious people have so much control and power in the USA again, I am declaring this the Age of Nefarious.

.

©️Lyrics by Ann Koplow, 2025

.

Can you tell that it’s the Age of Nefarious by the other images in this blog?

.

As I’m turning 72 in two weeks, I really resent being an old woman trapped inside an old woman’s body during The Age of Nefarious.

Thanks to all who will help each other during The Age of Nefarious, including YOU!

Day 4399: Caliginous

This world can seem caliginous at times.

.

To deal with these caliginous times, I’ve been writing new lyrics to the song “The Age of Aquarius” from the musical Hair, which I’m calling “The Age of Nefarious.”

©️Ann Koplow, 2025

.

In case your memory of that song is caliginous, here is the opening of the movie Hair.

.

Do you see anything caliginous in the rest of this blog post?

.

A burrito is another way to deal with all things caliginous.

Thanks to those who bring light into these caliginous times, including YOU!

Day 4363: Technology

I’ve been dependent on medical technology (including cardiac pacemakers and now an artificial heart valve) most of my life.

And if it weren’t for technology, I wouldn’t be able to connect with you through this blog, here and now.

At the same time, I experience myself and others feeling lost and frustrated about technology that we have no choice but to learn and use in order to survive in today’s world.

Yesterday, when I was getting an echocardiogram at the hospital, the sonographer and I spent most of the time complaining to each other about new computer technology we need to use to get our work done.

That inspired me to work on a song about technology, to the tune to Billy Joel’s “Honesty.”

If you want simplicity,

It’s very hard to find.

With all the systems that we need to live.

My phone, I moan, keeps changing

All those apps and passwords, too.

It takes up more time than we have to give.

Technology, it’s such a complex world

And everyone is so confused.

Technology, it’s chaotic growth unfurled

Which keeps me feeling lost and bruised.

©️ Ann Koplow, 2024

.

Here’s “Honesty,” by Billy Joel:

.

In all honesty, changing technology sometimes gets in the way of me creating and sharing my songs, because I feel unsure about the best way to proceed. I need to learn to use technology to my advantage, and let go of my insecurities about my abilities to keep up with the latest and greatest technology (whatever the heck that is).

Do you see technology in my images for today?

.

Do you agree with me about technology?

Thanks to all who are here for this technology post, including YOU!

Day 3973: Explaining

I’m starting off this blog post by explaining what explaining is.

.

Here are some quotes about explaining:

.

Should I be explaining this YouTube video I created yesterday?

.

Here’s the blurb I wrote explaining that:

.

Do you see explaining in my other images for today?

.

That’s one way to deal with explaining.

At the end of every blog post, I’m explaining how grateful I am to YOU!
