Day 4037: Acceptance

As I look at a difficult week ahead, I am practicing acceptance, which is easier said than done.

What acceptance can we find in today’s images?

.

When I search for acceptance on YouTube I find this …

… and this:

.

What are your thoughts and feelings about acceptance?

Please accept my heartfelt thanks to you.

  1. it is so incredible important to find acceptance, as there are so many things that cannot be changed, and it helps to not be upset about it, if you accept and move on. doesn’t mean they are good or how you think they should be, but just the way they are

  2. Yes, Ann, it snowed all weekend and didn’t reach 20 degrees. Sigh.

  3. Thank you. This is helpful, as one of my adult kids is going through something very difficult right now and I can’t fix it. Hard when your mom super powers no longer work.

    • I understand, Maureen. My daughter was expecting something good to happen recently, but I haven’t heard whether or not it has and I’m afraid maybe it hasn’t. Don’t want to ask her directly, until I see a sign of some sort – she doesn’t like to talk about things that hurt her. And she lives a couple of thousand miles away. She is posting on FB, though, so her’s not hermiting. I have to accept that whatever happens, she will deal with it (she’s 47) and will let me know in her own good time.

      • Barbara, I hope that you have found out whether the good thing happened for your daughter, and that it did! It must be so difficult, being separated by 2000 miles when you are worrying. I commend you for your wise perspective. thank you for the comforting words.

    • I am practicing radical acceptance about my child, also.

  4. I struggle with acceptance of anything uncomfortable or hard to take. And yet I recognize that we all have “hard parts” to life, and fighting against that isn’t helpful. I love all your links and expect to look at the videos. Thank you, Ann. And I hope you have a good week…despite the hard parts.

At times, there is no other alternative. Life isn’t always a bed of roses. Have a nice day, Ann

  6. Acceptance can be hard, but it is a wonderful thing, when it happens! Xoxo
