Day 4757: Faith

When I went to visit the wonderful family of my recently deceased, beloved cousin Marilyn yesterday, we practiced our faith by reciting the mourner’s Kaddish. We also honored her memory by sharing stories about her kindness, generosity, love of life, and commitment to her faith, family, and friends.

I had faith that two of my dear friends would do well with scheduled surgeries this week, and they did.

I have enough faith in the power of peaceful protest to show up for this event in Boston today:

.

Do you see faith in my other images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “faith” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all I have faith in, including YOU!

Day 4750: Predictions

I’m not psychic, but my prediction is that humans tend to make predictions, especially around the new year.

My prediction for 2026 is that Trump will say and do things that will cause more chaos and pain in this world. I would like to make the prediction that he will be stopped this year, but I feel less sure about that prediction.

You may have some predictions about the images I’m about to share.

My prediction is that I will not consume any alcohol but the Daily Bitch will.

My prediction is that the news will often worry me but that I will live my life anyway, including going back to work on Monday.

Another prediction is that my son Aaron will continue to share music I like, as he did last night.

Here’s what I find when I search for “predictions” on YouTube:

.

My prediction is that some of you will comment on this predictions post.

A safe prediction is that I will end these daily blog posts with thanks to YOU.

Day 4743: Memories

Sometimes I think about how many memories I’m preserving in this here 13-year daily blog. There are many memories of my grown son Aaron, who will be staying with us this week. And lots of memories of other wonderful people, food, and cats.

Let’s see what memories are in today’s blog.

.

It’s not on the list but today is my second husband Michael’s and my wedding anniversary and I have many memories of that day.

.

Here’s another memory I’d like share:

.

I told my son Aaron about that introduction and three months later, when I again invited somebody from the audience to introduce me, he recited the exact same introduction of me from memory.

Thanks to all the memorable people who are here for my memories, including YOU!

Day 4729: Plans

Here is my first thought about plans:

“Man plans, God laughs.”

Lately, I’ve been trying to make as few plans as possible, which is challenging this time of the year.

What plans do you see in my images for today?

.

My plans were to not eat any ice cream today. Ha!

Here’s what I find when I search for “plans” on YouTube.

.

My plans for today include reading all the comments for this post.

Thanks to all whose plans included visiting this blog, including YOU!

Day 4596: Look at you go

When I am dancing around, because of nervousness, boredom, or joy, my husband Michael says, “Look at you go!”

Today, I noticed this in an email from Chewy.com:

.

Somehow, that doesn’t land the same, probably because Chewy isn’t really looking. But because of all the places I’ve been going, “look at you go” seems like a good title for today’s blog post.

.

Look at you go, Daily Bitch.

Here’s a tune called “Look at You Go” on YouTube:

.

Look at you go accepting my gratitude, here and now!

Day 4554: Harmless compulsions

Some may think of these as concerning psychological glitches, but I think people have harmless compulsions.

My harmless compulsions include looking for mistakes, telling the truth, expressing my feelings, taking pictures of animals, checking multiple times to make sure I’m leaving the house with what I need, waiting before opening delivered mail and packages, counting rabbits on walks with my husband, blogging every day, and assuming I’m not alone in harmless compulsions.

Do you see harmless compulsions in my images for today?

.

Sharing those lists in several places is another harmless compulsion of mine.

Here’s a song I compulsively wrote about harmless compulsions;

.

Another harmless compulsion of mine is collecting many different thank you’s so I can always express my gratitude to YOU!

Day 4484: Trust

Trust is a topic that constantly comes up in my therapy groups. Many people are working on figuring out who they can trust. In the past, their trust has been betrayed. They are afraid of trusting too much and trusting too little. And they are learning how to trust themselves.

I trust that you are ready to see my images for today.

.

This is what I find on YouTube when I search for trust:

.

I trust Frances Frei. Because I distrust the current USA government and because she is, according to her Wikipedia page, “the course lead for first-year diversity and inclusion studies at Harvard Business School,” I don’t know whether to trust that Frances Frei will continue to get the support she deserves.

What are your thoughts and feelings about trust?

Thanks to all those I trust, including YOU.

Day 4344: Countries

Yesterday, when I was feeling bad about my country, it comforted me to think about all the other countries that exist in the world.

After the results of our latest election, I know some people who are considering moving away from my country to other countries. For now, I have no plans to leave my country. For one thing, I want to keep facilitating therapy groups in the USA.

In a Coping and Healing group this week, I said that each person is like a separate country with our own traditions, history, and language, and that it takes work for us to understand and communicate with each other. I saw the other “countries” in the group nod their heads in agreement.

I’m looking forward to visiting another country next year with some dear friends from film school.

What countries do you see in my blog post for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “countries” on YouTube.

.

Thank to all who are reading this countries post, including YOU!

Day 4274: Here for everything

I want to be here for everything AND I want to minimize being with toxic people and situations.

I’m here to tell you that both are possible, if you take action and set limits.

I appreciate that you are here for everything in this post.

.

I’m here for everything, especially cats.

.

I’m here for everything this weekend, including a haircut, consulting with Riccardo Pearlman about next steps for my music career, food shopping with my husband, video calls with people I love including my friend Jeanette, my son Aaron, and my ex-husband Leon, and a special showing of Blazing Saddles with fabulous friends Janet and Ray from film school.

When I search YouTube for “here for everything, I find this …

.

… and this:

.

Thanks to all who are here for everything, including YOU!

Day 4127: Belonging

In my therapy groups, I often witness people expressing gratitude and, sometimes, doubt about belonging there.

My experience is that most humans be longing to have a sense of belonging.

.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for belonging on YouTube:

.

I look forward to the comments that are belonging together, below.

Thanks to all who allow for the possibility that they are belonging here, including YOU!
