Day 5036: Voting

On November 3, I’ll be voting blue no matter who.

.

Experts, as always, are predicting who will be voting and whom they’ll be voting for. We’ll see how the voting matches the predictions.

If I were to ask you to be voting for your favorite image in today’s post, which one would you be voting for?

.

That’s how I feel when I listen to some voting pundits.

Here’s what I find when I search for “voting” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are here for this voting post, including YOU!

Day 5035: Too Much Space

Last week, in group, we did a mindfulness exercise about things that take up too much space in our heads. I imagined my head as an apartment building with rooms of the same size, and I consciously put everybody and everything into its own room, so nothing was taking up too much space.

As I’ve been trying to make this blog more readable for everybody, I decided there was too much space between the lines of each paragraph and I reduced that space this morning.

I don’t want to take up too much space with my introductory paragraphs today, but I also want to share that I have stopped worrying about taking up too much space in the world.

I’m also not worrying about my images for today taking up too much space.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “too much space” on YouTube:

.

Don’t worry about taking up too much space in the comments section, below.

Am I taking up too much space with my gratitude for you?

Day 5034: Moments

Every morning, I spend moments creating this blog to share moments with you.

I’m not saying that these moments are momentous, but they all add up.

I find that the more I can focus on the current moments, the better for my mental health.

Whenever I link to a previous blog post (as I just did a moment ago), I remember a moment many years ago when my beloved long-time reader Maureen graciously likened that to stringing precious pearls together.

Thanks for that and many other supportive moments, Maureen.

Now it’s time to share my moments for today!

.

Here’s what I find when I look for “moments” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who improve my moments, including YOU!

Day 5033: Important Conversations

This week, I’ll be having important conversations about people’s mental health, including one with an insurance provider.

I tend to get anxious about important conversations because I have an investment in their outcome. And losing my investment in the outcome was one of my first important conversations with the readers of this blog (as you’ll see if you click on the links in this paragraph).

Speaking of this blog, I’ve been having some important conversations about making it more accessible.

To promote more important conversations about the midterm elections, I got blue nail polish yesterday.

.

Last night, I asked a question about important conversations on social media.

.

Do you see important conversations in my other images for today?

.

Here’s an important conversation about being better humans with Kathy Griffin and Leigh McGowan, Politics Girl.

.

Thanks to all who have important conversations, including YOU!

Day 5032: Mental Health

After working for many years as a marketing writer, I decided in the 1990s it would be better for my mental health to pursue a career in mental health.

These days, people seem to use the term “behavioral health” more than “mental health.” I am curious what I’ll find when I request a definition of “mental health.”

.

I create this daily blog for my own mental health and I hope it helps the mental health of others.

How do today’s images affect your mental health?

.

Joan’s mental health seems to improve when I take her outside and I hope this video improves your mental health!

.

Thanks to all who are for this mental health post, including YOU!

Day 5031: Legacy

I’m not sure what my legacy will be but I hope it will be a good one.

.

On World Mental Health Day, I’m glad that part of my legacy is this song.

.

Lasting thanks to all who are here for this legacy post, including YOU!

Day 5030: Joan

Joan, our cat, has many fans on social media.

Since the day the USA started bombing Iran, I’ve been sharing a daily picture of Joan on Twitter. Yesterday’s picture of Joan got the biggest response ever.

.

As usual, Eric Yake had a wonderful response to Joan’s picture.

.

Here are some of my favorite Joan/Eric pairings.

.

Eric says he plans to publish a book of Joan photos and give the proceeds to my favorite charity!

Almost all of my images today are about Joan.

.

Here’s the video of Joan I chose to run when you listen to my song “I Left the House Before I Felt Ready” on Spotify.

.

Thanks to Joan, Eric, and everybody who is here for Joan now, including YOU!

Day 5029: What Matters

As best I can, I try to include what matters to me (and others, I hope) in this daily blog.

What matters to you in my images for today?

.

The Daily Bitch is very clear about what matters to her.

Here’s the wonderful TED talk I find when I search for “what matters” on YouTube:

.

What matters to me, here and now, is expressing my gratitude to YOU.

Day 5028: Anxious

Here and now, I’m anxious about an upcoming insurance review, a group workshop I need to give on October 17 (when I’d rather be at a No Kings protest), making mistakes, and many other things.

I was anxious when I wrote this song:

.

Now that I’ve listened to that, I feel a little less anxious.

Our cat Harley is much more anxious than our cat Joan.

.

Can you tell I was anxious when I captured the images in today’s blog?

.

The Daily Bitch and I both watch TV when we’re anxious.

I hope you’re not too anxious to leave a comment, below.

Thanks to all who are here for this anxious blog post, including YOU!

Day 5027: Stories we like to tell

In therapy, we talk a lot about the stories we like to tell. I encourage people to tell the positive stories about themselves, since we tend to remember and focus on the negative.

Do you see stories we like to tell in my images for today?

.

Apparently, the Daily Bitch isn’t interested in listening to the stories we like to tell.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “the stories we like to tell.”

.

Colleen Georges likes to tell stories similar to those I like to tell.

Thanks to all those who are here for the stories we like to tell, including YOU!
