Day 4431: Who Shall I Be

Yesterday was Who Shall I Be Day, and who shall I be if not someone who finds out what that means.

.

I’ve actually explored who shall I be throughout my long life, as I’ve been a technical writer, film student, teacher, partner in an advertising agency, psychotherapist, mother, songwriter, and —of course! — blogger, who shares images like these.

.

Who shall I be today? Someone who doesn’t drink wine (or any alcohol), who would love to have ice cream for breakfast (but won’t), who has relied on a pacemaker battery for 62 years to keep me alive, who hates Florida, and who appreciates my thumbs because everyday I use them to create this blog on my phone.

Here’s what I find when I search for “who shall I be” on YouTube:

.

Who shall I be? I shall be someone who expresses gratitude for all who show up here, including YOU!

Day 4430: What I’m Watching

When I don’t like what I’m watching on the news, I take breaks by watching movies, people, and animals that give me comfort.

Can you tell what I’m watching by looking at my images for today?

.

What I’m watching includes how many protests there will be in the USA on President’s Day and Sarah Cooper’s terrific videos.

.

What I’m watching includes wonderful people like YOU!

Day 4429: Protests

Protests are happening against the current USA administration, and I protest the minimal coverage of these protests in the news.

For weeks I’ve been wanting to support protests with a protest song, and I finally started writing one yesterday.

.

I hope there are no protests about what I’m sharing in today’s blog.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “protests” on YouTube:

.

Thanks to all who are here for this protests post, including YOU!

Day 4428: Serious questions

I’ve been hearing many serious questions lately about how we are going to survive serious threats to our freedom and well being.

I’m also hearing serious answers about self care, connecting with other concerned people, organizing, and taking action, although there are serious questions about what those actions should be.

I will continue to ask serious questions here and elsewhere.

.

I have serious questions about how some so-called religious people can be so selfish, un-caring, and uncharitable about the most vulnerable and needy among us. .

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “serious questions” on YouTube.

.

Do you have any serious questions or answers about this blog?

Thanks to all who are here for serious questions, including YOU!

Day 4427: Hidden Thoughts

As a group therapist, I know that when people share their hidden thoughts they often discover they are not alone.

That’s why I wrote and sometimes perform “Hidden Thoughts.”

.

Here and now, one of my many fears about the rapid changes in the USA is that some of us who disagree with the government might increasingly have hidden thoughts. Also, if Medicaid is drastically cut, my patients may be unable to express their hidden thoughts in therapy.

No matter what, though, I’ll keep unhiding my hidden thoughts here and elsewhere.

Good question, Daily Bitch.

Feel free to express your hidden thoughts in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who help me express my hidden thoughts every day, including YOU!

Day 4426: Providing Hope

Yesterday, before my appointment with my beloved cardiologist Dr. Deeb Salem, who has been providing hope for me for 45 years, I saw this pamphlet in the waiting room:

.

Dr. Salem is also providing hope for many in Massachusetts by helping to create the Physician Pathway Act.

.

Here is a TV news report, featuring Dr. Salem, about how the Physician Pathway Act is providing hope.

.

Let’s see if my other images for today will be providing hope.

.

With all the hope-damaging news these days, we especially need Dr. Salem and all those providing hope, including YOU.

Day 4425: Different perspectives

Usually I appreciate and embrace different perspectives, but these days I am having trouble understanding and tolerating the different perspectives of many people in the USA.

Also, our current leaders are doing their best to squelch different perspectives in a very alarming way.

What different perspectives do you see in my images for today?

.

I consult with several trusted people who have different perspectives on my medical conditions and today I will be enjoying the different perspectives of my long-time cardiologist Dr. Deeb Salem.

Here’s what I find when I search for “different perspectives” on YouTube.

.

I look forward to different perspectives in the comments section, below.

Thanks to all who help me understand different perspectives, including YOU!

Day 4424: 1 Person Can Make a Difference

Despite my horror at the chaos, destruction, and injustice that toxic leaders are creating in this world — which can make us feel hopeless and helpless — I still believe that 1 person can make a difference.

.

I hope this 1 person can make a difference by sharing images, questions, and answers in her daily blog.

.

1 person can make a difference AND (as the 1 Daily Bitch is reminding me) 1 person might need to say “can’t” at times.

1 person can make a difference on YouTube.

.

1 person can make a difference by expressing gratitude to people who show up, including YOU.

Day 4423: Horror

I don’t watch horror movies because there is enough horror we have to deal with in real life.

Many people I know are avoiding the news because of their horror of what is happening in USA politics.

.

Horror is also on my mind today because of the Daily Bitch Calendar.

.

I ‘m sure that Kansas City fans had looks of horror on their faces when they were watching last night’s Super Bowl.

Because I have a horror of falling on ice, I’m going to wear these on my boots today:

.

Let’s see if there’s any horror in the rest of my images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “horror”on YouTube:

.

Now I understand much better why so many people like horror movies. I do have a horror of how people in power can exploit fears to divide and control people.

Thanks to all those who help me deal with horror every day, including YOU!

Day 4422: Something that needs to be said

Every morning, when I write this blog, I try to include something that needs to be said.

Every time I facilitate a therapy group, I encourage everyone to share something that needs to be said.

When we say something that needs to be said, our voices can be powerful and healing.

Do you see something that needs to be said in my images today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “something that needs to be said” on YouTube:

.

Something that needs to be said: I kept thinking about Trump when I watched that video.

If you have something that needs to be said, please leave a comment, below.

Something that needs to be said, here and now, is Thank You!!!!
