Day 4431: Who Shall I Be

Yesterday was Who Shall I Be Day, and who shall I be if not someone who finds out what that means.

.

I’ve actually explored who shall I be throughout my long life, as I’ve been a technical writer, film student, teacher, partner in an advertising agency, psychotherapist, mother, songwriter, and —of course! — blogger, who shares images like these.

.

Who shall I be today? Someone who doesn’t drink wine (or any alcohol), who would love to have ice cream for breakfast (but won’t), who has relied on a pacemaker battery for 62 years to keep me alive, who hates Florida, and who appreciates my thumbs because everyday I use them to create this blog on my phone.

.

Who shall I be? I shall be someone who expresses gratitude for all who show up here, including YOU!

I’m so content being myself right now I cannot imagine being anyone else, unless, as I pointed out in my comment last night, I could revisit myself at a time in 1969, when something truly magical happened. Luckily, I realized it at the time. 🙂

  2. What caused them to shut down some parts of the supermarket? Was there a power failure?

  3. I can only be me –

  4. One of my favorite Far Side cartoons is a penguin in a giant crowd of penguins singing “I’ve got to be me…” I want to be that penguin.
