Day 3812: Enjoy the little things

In a world beset by big problems, I try to enjoy the little things, including

Enjoy the little things, like ball point pens, herbs & spices, young eagles, mutts, iced tea, dolls, etc. And if anyone is biking naked today, enjoy the little things there, too.

Here’s what I find when I search for “enjoy the little things” on YouTube.

.

Big thanks to all who helped me create this enjoy-the-little things post, including you!

Day 3811: What’s the problem?

“What’s the problem?” was a question this zetetic blogger considered asking last night on Twitter.

What’s the problem with my images for today?

.

Even on days when there might seem to be fewer problems, our brains are still asking “What’s the problem?” What’s the problem with that?

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “what’s the problem?”

.

Thanks to Jon Stewart and to everyone else who helped me ask “What’s the problem?” today, including YOU.

Day 3810: Zetetic

As a zetetic person, I have many questions, including

  • Do you know what “zetetic” means?
  • Why doesn’t spell check know that “zetetic” is a real world?
  • What’s a salt marsh?
  • What are we going to do about wildfire and climate change?
  • What’s the world’s most dangerous animal?
  • What’s your favorite restaurant?
  • Who do you love?
  • Did you know that yesterday was Prince’s birthday?
  • Are you ready for my images for today?

Because I’m zetetic, I must ask (1) what the heck is Betty Picnic Day and (2) does anybody besides me use Google to answer questions like that?

What will I find on YouTube when I search for “zetetic”?

What will I find on YouTube when I search for “zetetic Prince”?

.

Thanks to all who helped me create this zetetic post, including YOU!

Day 3809: Sometimes

Sometimes, I

  • get self-conscious,
  • overthink things,
  • believe I’m alone when I’m not,
  • focus on the past,
  • expect the worst in the future,
  • lose track of the riches of the present,
  • forget I have years of experience solving all sorts of problems,
  • don’t have a lot of photos to share, and
  • highlight the Daily Bitch.

Sometimes I eat Chocolate Ice Cream. No times I run, go to a tailor, or use a VCR.

Here’s a “sometimes” song that’s playing in my head:

Sometimes I have dinner with my son Aaron, my husband Michael, and my ex-husband Leon, and tonight is one of those times.

Sometimes I ask for comments on a post; all times I feel and express gratitude for those who sometimes read this blog, including YOU!

Day 3808: Delusions

If you think delusions aren’t here, there, and also in this blog post, that’s a delusion.

.

Are there any Drive in Movie theaters left or is that a delusion?

Let’s see if there are any delusions on YouTube (I’m guessing there are).

.

If you think I’m going to end this blog post without thanking you for being here, that’s a delusion

Day 3807: It’s time

It’s time for me to write my daily blog post and I don’t have a topic.

My cat is telling me it’s time to feed her. It’s almost time for me to leave for the hospital to do my one in-person therapy group for the week.

When I look for a topic to naturally emerge from my images for today, maybe it’s time.

On this Festival of Popular Delusions Day, it’s time for me to accept the reality that not all of my blog posts are going to be as cohesive as I’d like.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s time for me to take a break from this daily blog, but then I realize that it isn’t!

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “it’s time.”

It’s time for me to ask for comments and to thank all who help me create these daily posts, including YOU!

Day 3806: Drawing Conclusions

I am drawing conclusions that people like drawing conclusions, because chaos and unknowns are so uncomfortable for us.

I am also drawing conclusions about myself based on years of evidence, including this one: I can do a good enough job taking care of myself and others.

Might you be drawing conclusions based on the images I have to share today?

I am resisting drawing conclusions about today’s list of Holidays and Observances until I do more research about them.

Based on my research at YouTube, I’m drawing conclusions that there are several videos about drawing conclusions, including this one:

.

Drawing the conclusion of this post about drawing conclusions includes expressing my gratitude to YOU!

Day 3805: What’s stuck in your head

At the end of every Coping and Healing therapy group, I suggest that people name something positive to take away from the session, because “the negative tends to stick.”

What’s stuck in my head right now is the one unpleasant thing I need to do this weekend. In the moment, I am taking a breath and choosing to focus on all the positives instead.

What’s stuck in your head after you look at my images for today?

What’s stuck in my head right now is that the Daily Bitch drinks too much. Also, because it’s Repeat Day (I said “Repeat Day”), I’ll repeat this: the negative tends to stick.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “what’s stuck in your head.”

.

If there’s something stuck in your head right now, feel free to stick it in the comments section, below.

What’s stuck in my head (and in my heart) is gratitude to all who help me stick these posts every day, including YOU!

Day 3804: Compliments

Yesterday, in a Coping and Healing group, people talked about compliments. Several said they had trouble accepting compliments because they

  • didn’t believe them,
  • didn’t deserve them,
  • weren’t used to them,
  • felt conceited,
  • felt embarrassed,
  • associated them with past traumas, and
  • were less comfortable with them than they were with familiar negative talk.

Compliments can’t hurt us! Let’s try to accept them with a simple “thank you.”

.

Let’s see if there are any compliments in my other images for today.

.

Compliments to the U.S. Congress for not sleeping and doing something hard: raising the debt ceiling and averting global fiscal disaster.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for compliments.

.

Thanks to all who do their best to give and receive compliments, including YOU!

Day 3803: Say something nice

It’s easy for me to say something nice to my readers, because you are all so nice to me.

Today, on National Say Something Nice Day, I’ll say something nice to everyone, even if they’re not nice to me.

I’ll even say something nice to myself: “Hey, Ann! You sure do capture interesting images for this blog!”

I could say something nice about many of today’s holidays and observances, including Oscar the Grouch Day.

I always say something nice about the TV show Ted Lasso (which had its season, if not series, finale this week) and Ted can say something nice to everyone.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “say something nice Ted Lasso.”

.

Thanks to all those who say something nice, including YOU!
