In my Coping and Healing groups, people talk about wanting to get rid of mixed feelings. I have mixed feelings about how to respond because I believe mixed feelings are the natural human response to complex situations which surround us.
Do you see mixed feelings in my images for today?
.
Here’s what I find when I search for mixed feelings on YouTube.
.
If you have mixed feelings about watching that video, I recommend that TED talk by Dr. Joan Rosenberg about accepting mixed feelings, including these unpleasant ones:

Thanks to everyone who deals with mixed feelings, including YOU!
Yesterday, in my Coping and Healing group, the mindfulness exercise was focusing on peace of mind.
Lately, I’ve been struggling to attain peace of mind. My mind has been going into the future (specifically my upcoming solo trip to Switzerland) with worry and anxiety. It’s also very difficult for me to attain peace of mind when corrupt people are in positions of power.
When I asked about peace of mind on social media last night, some people asked for a definition.
Blogging helps my peace of mind and I hope my images today help yours.
.
Some people tell me that rain helps their peace of mind. Let’s see what the chances of rain are on rain day.
Have you ever experienced a stranger time with so much danger? Above all, there is danger because of the stranger in the White House.
Do you see stranger danger in today’s images?
I am having an echocardiogram today at 3 to discover whether COVID-19 has damaged my heart, which is stranger than yours. Everyone will be wearing masks during this procedure, so that strangers won’t cause danger to each other. Even though masks might make us look and feel stranger, it’s the strangest behavior in the world not to wear one to reduce danger to oneself and others.
The stranger in the White House is endangering countless lives of strangers with his stranger and stranger behavior. If you are voting for him, nothing is stranger to me.
Truth is stranger than fiction, and “Stranger in Town” from Pat Metheny’s Orchestrion showed up in my headphones yesterday when I was taking my “Stranger Danger” photos.
What are your thoughts and feelings about this Stranger Danger post?
Thanks to all the friends and strangers who help me create this daily blog, which reduces my danger during these stranger and stranger times.
What does “come as you are” (which I saw in a magazine yesterday while waiting for an echocardiogram) mean to you?
Here comes an online discussion of “Come as you are”:
Best Answer: Come as you are on a party invitation indicates that the host or hostess is having a very informal party and Dress is not important. Now, if you were thinking about going naked to the party you might want to determine if it would be the best option. Things to consider might be 1. do you look good naked,2. are you secure enough in your looks to go to a party naked,3. how much importance do you put on shock and surprise of the other guests. Generally, come as you are means, if you have on jeans and a Polo and deck shoes, or in the summer if you have on shorts, a tee shirt, and sandals, you will be in acceptable attire. It simply means what it says come as you are, no need to dress up.

In my Coping and Healing groups, I often say at the end, “I’m grateful that everybody showed up exactly the way they showed up today.” I hope that’s an invitation for people to come as they are.
It’s time for my other photos from yesterday to come as they are.
As I’m creating this blog post as I am, this message keeps coming at me from WordPress:
A new editor is coming to level-up your layout.
I don’t know if I want a new editor coming to level-up my layout. I’d prefer my blog posts to come as they are.
Here’s another entry from that online discussion about “Come as you are”:
it think that whoever has invited u listens to Nirvana, a lot…wear a Nirnana t-shirt or go naked.
If you’re coming here as you are from outside the USA, you may not be able to watch that video.
For the next two days, I’ll be coming as I am to a group therapy conference in New York. I assume I’ll come away from that experience as a better group therapist.
Here’s thanks coming from me to all those who helped me create this come-as-you-are post and — of course — to YOU, for coming as you are.
