Day 4987: Fictional Characters

When I was a young girl dealing with heart problems and multiple hospitalizations, I took great solace in fictional characters. I learned about resilience, resourcefulness, adaptability, integrity, grit, kindness, and humor from my parents but also from fictional characters.

Yesterday I had two conversations with the fictional character ChatGPT about fictional characters.

One conversation was about losing my perfectionism about my upcoming trip to Switzerland. I told ChatGPT that it helped me to think I would survive even if I showed up in a foreign land like Marcus Brody did in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Here’s what ChatGPT said about that:

The second conversation was about which fictional characters I resembled. I told ChatGPT I hoped I was like Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice but wondered what other ones it might suggest.

I really relate to the fictional character of The Daily Bitch.

Day 4769: Come in from the cold

I wish I lived in a nation where everybody could come in from the cold. Because of the cold people running this nation, it’s getting even more difficult to come in from the cold.

Day 3542: Craving

My craving for travel has only intensified during the pandemic, so it’s been wonderful traveling to Disney World and now to Jekyll Island in Georgia.

At the same time, I’ve been craving contact with our cats back at home, so I really appreciate my husband Michael sending me these photos he took yesterday.

Day 3260: What can you appreciate in this moment?

Last night, when I was appreciating some moments of rest and reflection, I posted this question on Twitter:

In this moment, I can appreciate:

Yogi Egyptian Licorice tea, which is delicious and has helpful sayings attached to its teabags,
the beginning of another precious day,
all the people and cats I love,
my fulfilling work as a group therapist,
my health,
my home near a Boston bay, and
all the images I want to share with you today.

In this moment, I can appreciate socks …

… and the thought of a cookie for later.

I can appreciate the many moments in the TV show The Beatles: Get Back, which I’ve been watching with my very much appreciated son Aaron and husband Michael. In this moment, I can appreciate that this song is running through my head:

Day 2017: Clutter

Last Friday’s Coping and Healing therapy group focused on the issue of clutter.

The word “clutter” is still cluttering up my white board.

Now I’m going to clutter up this post with a definition of “clutter.”

Many thoughts clutter up my brain, including this one:

One person’s clutter is another person’s treasure.

There are lots of new photos cluttering up my iPhone.

Yesterday, I cluttered up WordPress with Day 2016: How to be more awesome. Tomorrow, I’ll be trying to figure out how to clutter up a post when the number of the day is the same as the number of the year.
