Day 4075: Connections

In case you haven’t made this connection by reading my blog, I see connections everywhere.

This week, I’m exploring connections at a group therapy conference in Washington DC. Do you see connections in my images for today?

I blogged about fairy tales yesterday and fairy tales showed up at the conference yesterday.

Connections I make here and elsewhere help me decide what I want to be. Yesterday, in a group, I said I didn’t want to be labeled and then I sang this song.

Thanks to all those with whom I have precious connections, including YOU!

Day 4074: Once upon a time

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Ann who was born with a very unusual heart. While her life was sometimes scary, she met many wonderful people who helped her grow up to appreciate the richness and beauty of every moment.

One of my favorite people in the world, Sharon, is at the Group Therapy conference!
The presenter for yesterday’s session showed a clip from one of my favorite movies, Lars and the Real Girl!
Kevin Howard, who is such a fabulous piano player and who also loves McCoy Tyner, George Duke, and Lyle Mays, said he might show up at my concert in June!

.

Once upon a time, Ann searched and found this on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who have helped me once upon a time and now, including YOU!

Day 3827: Quaesitum

My quaesitum is to learn new things and to share them with others.

.

I have many quaesitums (or quaesita), including:

  • group work,
  • spending time with those I love,
  • reading,
  • writing,
  • music, and
  • sharing my daily experiences with you.

After my second heart surgery in 1965, when I was in eighth grade, my quaesitum was to get a color TV so I could watch my favorite shows while I was recovering. Here and now, my quaesitum is to wish my first husband and the father of our son Aaron a Happy Leon Day!

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “quaesitum” on YouTube.

.

My quaesitum is to let people know I appreciate them, so many thanks to Mary Alicia Barnes (whose office at Tufts University is so beautifully “bloggy”), Leon, other people I love, those who heal in groups, my friends on Twitter, and — of course! — YOU!

Day 3710: People pleasing

Many people in my Coping and Healing groups aspire to do less people pleasing. I find it pleasing to encourage people to balance their needs with other people’s needs.

Let’s see what the Daily Bitch pleases to say about people pleasing.

.

Do you see people pleasing in my other images for today?

.

I didn’t know which list would be more pleasing to people, so it was a no brainer for me to share both.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “people pleasing.”

.

It pleases me to present a video about people pleasing by The Crappy Childhood Fairy on the same day that I’m sharing my Twitter question about favorite fairy tales. If it pleases other people, that’s a bonus.

Thanks to all the pleasing people who helped me write this “people pleasing” post, including YOU!
