Day 4077: To-do lists

Here and now, my to-do list includes:

  • Going to my last day at a group therapy conference.
  • Connecting to people I like.
  • Learning new information.
  • Having dinner with my friend Jeanette.
  • Getting ready to go home tomorrow.
  • Letting go of unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.

What is off my to-do list is riding the giant Ferris wheel at National Harbor, which I did yesterday with my new friend Shawna!

That’s quite a to-do list for March 1.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “to-do lists.”

.

Also on my to-do list is expressing my gratitude to YOU.

Day 4075: Connections

In case you haven’t made this connection by reading my blog, I see connections everywhere.

This week, I’m exploring connections at a group therapy conference in Washington DC. Do you see connections in my images for today?

I blogged about fairy tales yesterday and fairy tales showed up at the conference yesterday.

Connections I make here and elsewhere help me decide what I want to be. Yesterday, in a group, I said I didn’t want to be labeled and then I sang this song.

Thanks to all those with whom I have precious connections, including YOU!

Day 4074: Once upon a time

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Ann who was born with a very unusual heart. While her life was sometimes scary, she met many wonderful people who helped her grow up to appreciate the richness and beauty of every moment.

One of my favorite people in the world, Sharon, is at the Group Therapy conference!
The presenter for yesterday’s session showed a clip from one of my favorite movies, Lars and the Real Girl!
Kevin Howard, who is such a fabulous piano player and who also loves McCoy Tyner, George Duke, and Lyle Mays, said he might show up at my concert in June!

.

Once upon a time, Ann searched and found this on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who have helped me once upon a time and now, including YOU!

Day 4071: Adventure

Today, I’m starting an adventure as I fly to Washington D.C. to see my friend Jeanette and attend a group therapy conference.

For me, adventure is exciting AND scary. I alternate between wanting to stay safe at home and the urge to venture out and try something new.

Do you see adventure in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for adventure on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who accompany me on every daily adventure, including YOU!

Day 3721: International Day of Awesomeness

Happy International Day of Awesomeness, you awesome person you!

I’ll be celebrating the awesomeness of this day at an awesome group therapy conference in the awesome city of NYC with other awesome group therapists.

I just described myself as an awesome group therapist because

  • International Awesomeness Day (according to the awesome National Day website) “is a day where anybody, no matter who they are, may celebrate their awesomeness” and
  • I am.

Do you see awesomeness in my images for today?

Isn’t that awesome?

To celebrate International Awesomeness Day, here is an awesome song:

.

Awesome thanks to all who help me celebrate the awesomeness of life every day, including YOU.

Day 3719: I am woman

I am woman and

  • I pointed out in a group yesterday that that women were interrupted way more often than men,
  • I have many wonderful women friends, including my life-long friend Barbara, whose birthday is today,
  • I know that women often have trouble accepting their own anger and their own awesomeness,
  • I’m very good at word games, and
  • as usual, I’m sharing the Daily Bitch Calendar and other images with you today.

I am woman and I’m glad I’m writing this post on Girls Write Now Day, International (Working) Women’s Day, National Be Nasty Day, and UN Day for Women’s Rights & International Peace.

Here’s what I find when I search for “I am Woman” on YouTube:

I’ve also been hearing this in my head as I’ve been creating this I-am-woman post:

I am woman and I am grateful to all the human beings who help me write this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 2621: Don’t be afraid

Yesterday morning, I had a conversation with a man working at the Starbucks in the New York City hotel where Michael Bloomberg later announced dropping out of the U.S. Presidential race. Here’s the conversation:

Him:  How are you?

Me: Afraid.

Him: Why?

Me: The coronavirus.

Him: Don’t be afraid.  It’s the people who are afraid who are going to get the virus.

Me: Now I’m REALLY afraid.

Him: (laughs)

Me: I do a daily blog. Could I take a photo of you saying, “Don’t be afraid”?

He was not afraid to grant my request.

Last night, walking back from seeing the wonderful musical Dear Evan Hansen with two  dear friends, I noticed this sign:

Don’t be afraid of  these other recent photos from my stay in NYC and don’t be afraid of clicking on any photo to enlarge it.

Don’t be afraid of “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen.

Don’t be afraid to leave a comment, below.

Don’t be afraid to express gratitude and to accept it, every day.

Day 2619: Something’s Coming

Something’s coming. What’s coming?

Super Tuesday, some super things made by my friend and fellow group therapist Jenn …

… some other things from our first day at the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) conference,

… some delicious things at two NYC restaurants, fears about the coronavirus, the coronavirus, new habits and behaviors because of the coronavirus, and “Something’s Coming” from the new production of West Side Story (which I’m seeing tonight at the Broadway Theater across from our hotel).

Something’s coming in the comments section, I assume.

Finally, something’s coming and it’s gratitude that we’re all still alive, as always.
