Day 3630: Weary

I’m weary as I’m writing this because

  • I often have trouble sleeping after my very full Thursday of doing individual and group therapy from 10 AM to 7 PM,
  • I have to keep making design decisions about our shower/bathroom remodel even after I think I’m finally done with all that,
  • I struggle balancing my needs with other people’s needs,
  • I have a very unusual heart which does not sustain me very well when I’m climbing stairs or hills,
  • this time of the year tires me out, and
  • I’m turning 70 in a few months, so what do you expect?

However, I’m not too weary to look for quotes about “weary.”

.

Today is National Weary Willie Day.

I expect to grow weary of the jokes people might make about Weary Willie Day.

I hope people aren’t too weary to look at the rest of my images today.

The Daily Bitch seems weary of niceties today.

Here’s the late great Madeline Kahn singing a weary song in Blazing Saddles (which I never grow weary of).

I hope you’re not too weary to leave a comment about this weary post.

Thanks to all who help perk me up when I’m weary, including YOU.

Day 3622: Focus

I woke up wondering what the focus of today’s blog post might be and then I thought, why not focus on focus?

These days, I have many centers of interest and activity (including group therapy for patients and providers, parenting, friendships, home repair, self-care, social media, writing, the news, word games, my original songs, travel, and cats), which makes it difficult to focus.

Now, I’m going to focus on quotes about focus.

That’s my cue to focus on my images for today.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “focus”:

Now I’m going to turn the focus to you: what are your thought and feelings about focus?

Many people recommend that we focus on gratitude, so thanks to all who help me focus every day, including YOU!

Day 3620: Comfortable

I’m comfortable writing these blog posts, after almost 10 years of doing them daily.

Practice may not make perfect (because who or what is perfect?), but practice does make me more comfortable.

I’m comfortable looking for quotes for any blogging topic, like these:

I am not comfortable with home repair decisions because I make so few of them, but a plumber is coming in less than an hour to help make our upstairs shower a comfortable space.

Do you see anything comfortable in my other images for today?

The Daily Bitch is comfortable sharing her opinion about being conformance.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “comfortable.”

Thanks to all who help me feel comfortable here, including YOU!

Day 3614: Silly

If somebody called you “silly,” would you take it as a compliment or an insult?

Is that a silly question? I’ve heard somebody say that there are no silly questions, only silly answers.

Here’s an online definition of “silly.”

What nincompoop wrote that completely negative definition of “silly?” Let’s check some silly quotes for a wider perspective.

Maybe it’s silly to share a quote today about Spring, but maybe that’s not a bad thing.

I’m sure I have more silly images to share with you.

.

Here’s “How Silly Can You Get?” from one of my favorite silly movies, Top Secret!

How silly can you get?

Thanks to all who visited today’s silly post, including YOU!

Day 3598: Control

I can’t control what other people have said about control, but I can control which control quotes I share today.

.

Do you see control in my images for today?

.

I can control what music I share here, So today I choose “Remote Control” by Wayne Shorter.

.

I can’t control what you do, but I can control how I express my gratitude to you, here and now.

Day 3595: Choices

Every day, there are choices to make.

Too many choices can be overwhelming; too few choices might feel like we’re trapped.

Yesterday, I made the choice to not connect my mental health to the choices that people might make in the USA mid-term elections. I will submit my choices when voting on Tuesday and I can only hope that others have chosen wisely.

Here are some choice quotes about choices:

.

Do you see choices in my other images for today?

.

This quote about choices by Stephen Sondheim …

… is from Sunday in the Park with George’s “Move On” and I choose to share this beautiful rendition.

.

My choices for ending a blog post are many, but I always choose gratitude. Thanks to all who made the choice to connect with me here today, including YOU.

Day 3590: Trust

In therapy, people work on trust. They ask, Who can I trust? Can I trust myself? What happens if I trust too much or trust too little?

I’ve been working in trust in therapy, too. If I have trouble trusting myself or others, I take a deep breath, slow down, and trust in my ability to move forward.

I trust there are trustworthy quotes about trust I can share with you, here and now.

.

Is there trust in my images for today?

I trust in young people, including my son Aaron.

Here’s what I find when I search for “trust” on YouTube.

Thanks to all those I trust, including YOU.

Day 3571: Progress

I’m making progress on today’s blog post — I’ve come up with a title based on the images I have to share with you.

Here’s a definition of “progress” …

.

… and quotes about “progress.”

.

.

As you progress through the rest of this post, do you see evidence of progress?

.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “progress.”

I also find this:

Thanks to all who help me progress through life, including YOU.
