Day 4600: Angry

I am so angry now I can barely write this post.

I am encountering all sorts of maddening glitches as I try to release my first album through LANDR.

This is a short list of the problems:

  • The whole album is being rejected by Spotify and Apple because I chose the genres “Comedy” and “Inspirational” for some of the tracks.
  • The LANDR customer service rep didn’t read my help request carefully and suggested that I submit it to Spotify as a podcast.
  • The track order got rearranged after submission which really doesn’t work for a live album.
  • When I am trying to create another album release in case this one needs to be cancelled, LANDR is not letting me upload my best song “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole” claiming that it’s already on the album (it isn’t).

I’ve spent hours trying to fix this with no luck.

Anger, as I tell my patients, is the human reaction to not getting your needs met. We also talk about how anger is like a child — you don’t want it in the driver’s seat but you also don’t want to stick it in the trunk.

Can you see anger in my images for today?

.

So many things to be angry about! I wish I could just wiggle my toes and forget about it all for now.

I dealt with anger before by writing this song and now I can’t get it on my album!

.

And now WordPress is telling me that both versions of my song “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole” are unavailable on YouTube! I am soooo angry!

Thanks to all who are here for this angry post, including YOU!!

  1. I hope they address all your album needs, Ann.

Looking forward to your album, Ann.

What makes me angry- aside from man’s ability to be inhuman- not much. I get disgruntled when customer service lets me down. Peturbed when neighbors do not pick up their dog’s poop or let them howl into the darkness. People who think a country road is also a trash receptacle (sometimes a full bag of trash, others just a McDonald’s soda cup). Humans gonna human.

  3. That all sounds very stressful and upsetting, Ann!!! I hope that you can get everything straightened out as quickly as possible.

I get it, Ann. “Customer service” can drive me crazy. As in frustrated and cursing at the computer. Not so much angry. But in your case, I do get it. If Amazon had been as recalcitrant at making my novels available for Kindle, I might have gone there too.

I’ve generally found it helpful to call – is there a number available? Talking to a person (calmly, not in anger, but you get that) has often gotten me through these glitches. Even a “chat” alternative has sometimes resolved things.

Dance a little angry dance, and try again! 🙂

  5. Some say astrology is rubbish, but Mercury is in retrograde at the moment, which is said to cause computer glitches and problems with travel and communication. I always seem to have more tech trouble when Mercury is in retrograde, and this time is no exception. I’ve had to deal with several frustrating computer problems lately, so I can sympathise!

    How frustrating!

  7. I’d say I get frustrated more than angry, but I can see why you’d be both! hopefully it gets straightened out to your satisfaction

  8. Few things make me angry like computer issues. Again and again I encounter the “I’m a developer therefore I know best” attitude from people who don’t know what they’re talking about and don’t want to hear what I have to say.
But I’ve also learned that the next developer I speak to is often going to be a helpful, understanding person who’s willing to listen. I hope you have a similar experience.

    • I might be having a similar experience, Chris, which I describe in today’s blog post. Thanks for another calming comment.

I understand your aggravation. You’re not alone. You will reach your goal one way or another
