Day 4801: Anxiety

I’m experiencing anxiety about today’s “massive” nor’easter, the massive damage being done to my country by the current administration, and my non-massive music career.

Like any other mother, I have felt some anxiety about my child. Thankfully, I’m not feeling any anxiety about him today — his 28th birthday. I also have no anxiety about continuing my tradition of posting this old video of his on February 23.

.

Do you have any anxiety about my images for today?

.

Here’s a song I wrote about anxiety:

.

Thanks to all who help me deal with my anxiety, including YOU!

  1. I hope you are safe from the storm and can stay inside and out of it.

  2. Happy birthday to Aaron! Hope you get to thoroughly celebrate him and enjoy him today. His misheard lyrics are so familiar to me after all these years that I feel they are the right ones.

About anxiety– I was very anxious flying home from Winnipeg yesterday but I feel less anxious now. (I think that less anxious is my best anxiety setting.)

The pill I take is escatalopram, which my doc in Seattle and I finally hit on to stop the panic attacks I was having several times a year. On more than a couple of those occasions, I called an aid car and was taken to the hospital only to be told that perhaps massage therapy would help. When I got the bill for that, I figured that I’d ignore the next one because it was cheaper to just die and get it over with. On one occasion a nurse friend came over after her shift and sat with me until morning. I still revere her for that. Then my doc prescribed that pill, and voila. It’s now been years. One downside is that I seem not to be able to cry anymore, given a few occasions when I might ordinarily have done so. But life in the “everything’s gonna be okay” lane is just fine, thank you very much. 🙂

  4. I’m anxious to know — what kind of salad is that with your sandwich? I’ve never seen the likes before…. (notice how today I have selective anxiety)

    • That is a warm bean salad created by my sometimes anxious and always wonderful husband, Michael. Thanks for being here, Claudia.

    Happy birthday to Aaron!

    I am not anxious; you’re anxious…
SO anxious my zoloft needs zoloft…
But seriously… I scheduled a meeting with my anxiety, but I decided to show up 8 hours early…
