Day 4580: Finding the Right Words

Here and now, I’m working on finding the right words for today’s blog post.

If I’m too focused on finding the right words, I might hesitate to communicate complex thoughts and feelings.

Often I’m finding the right words as I go along. I try to let go of too much judgment about what the right words and wrong words are.

Before I have an important interaction with someone, I spend some time finding the right words, but then I try to have faith in my ability to find good enough words in the moment.

Will we be finding the right words in my images for today?

.

Do you think the Daily Bitch is finding the right words?

Here’s what I find when I search for “finding the right words” on YouTube.

.

Now I’m finding the right words to end this post.

Day 4528: Geeking out

Yesterday, on Geek Pride Day, I was at an Open Mic where people were geeking out about unusual instruments, like a folding guitar that stays in tune. Together, we were all geeking out about each other’s songwriting and performing skills.

I was too busy geeking out to record a video of my performance, but I believe people were sincere when they were geeking out about how much they liked my protest song and “Everybody’s Somebody’s Asshole.”

I was geeking out about the impressive-looking camera somebody was using to take photos of all the performers, and she kindly sent me this picture of my performance at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn (which people geek out about being the best Open Mic in NYC).

.

I was geeking out about two other women’s performances (in a group of mostly men, as usual) and I suggested to them that we release an album of original songs with a women’s perspective. I don’t know how many people would geek out about such a concept or, more importantly, buy it.

I wonder if there will be any geeking out about my other images for today.

I was geeking about this plant-based ramen at Beyond Sushi, with faux brisket and a fried egg!

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “geeking out” on YouTube.

.

For anybody who might be geeking out about trains, soon I’ll be taking a train back to Boston, where I’ll be geeking out about my husband Michael’s fabulous culinary concoctions.

I was too busy geeking out to take a steady photo of a Thank You sign at Pete’s yesterday, but I hope you still accept my thanks to you for being here, now, for this geeking out blog post.

Day 3550: Who speaks to you?

Last night, after listening to many Todd Rundgren songs that spoke to me, I asked a question on Twitter about who speaks to you:

I love reading about who speaks to other people.

Do you know who does NOT speak to me (which I’ve never spoken about before on this blog)? My sister. People who speak in my therapy groups often reveal that siblings in their families have trouble speaking to each other.

Here’s someone who constantly speaks to me, although I don’t know what she’s saying.

.

Do any of my images today speak to you?

The Daily Bitch always speaks to me (even if some people in Real Life and on Twitter don’t speak to me).

Here’s one of the Todd Rundgren songs that spoke to me yesterday:

Who is speaking to you now? Hello, it’s me, with gratitude for YOU.
