I write songs
- to help myself and others,
- because I love music,
- for a creative outlet, and
- because lyrics and tunes show up in my brain.
Today, as I’m dealing with issues related to chronic illnesses, I started writing “The Chronic Illness Song.”
When you have a chronic illness
You have to take your pill, yes,
And do other things you may not want to do.

Why I write songs is related to why I blog every day: to connect with others through words and imagery.






Maybe I write songs because I’m a curmudgeon, a freethinker, somebody who appreciates the little things (like bubble wrap), and a person who sometimes pushes on a door that says pull.
