Day 4032: Brace yourself

Brace yourself for

  • the 2024 USA presidential race,
  • extreme weather,
  • the unexpected,
  • aging,
  • problematic bureaucracies and institutional systems,
  • heartbreaking injustices,
  • what the media chooses to report, and
  • yet another daily blog post from me.

.

I’m going to brace myself for yet another INR test this morning plus a colonoscopy next week, which I hope can be performed without a scalpel.

Here’s what I find when I search for “brace yourself” on YouTube.

.

Brace yourself for more gratitude from me!

Day 4010: What I like to share

While yesterday I shared and aired grievances, what I like to share includes so much more.

What I like to share includes love, family, friends, cats, music, food, hope, good grammar and spelling, and the Daily Bitch Calendar.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “what I like to share.”

What do you like to share?

What I like to share always includes gratitude for YOU!

Day 3648: An important date

Today is an important date because

  • it’s the third anniversary of when Michael and I got married (after many important dates),
  • my son Aaron is coming over to stay for a few days before we take a trip together to New York,
  • every day is an important date for somebody, and
  • I have all these images to share with you.

Today is CLEARLY an important date.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “an important date.”

Thanks to all who make every day an important date for me, including YOU!

Day 3646: Comfort

Last night, at a family Christmas Eve celebration, I saw this:

Because I feel so much comfort (and joy, which I’m just noticing now) in the presence of loved ones, I comfortably thought, “‘Comfort’ is the title of tomorrow’s blog post.”

Do you see comfort in my other images for today?

Puns are a comfort to me (although not to everyone).

Here’s Annie Lennox singing the Christmas song with “comfort” in it:

I find comfort in Nat King Cole’s version …

… and in this one by Simon & Garfunkel:

I also find comfort in the line “let nothing you dismay.”

Thanks to all who give me comfort every day, including YOU!

Day 3558: Leave nothing behind but love

Love is a wonderful thing to leave behind — a sentiment left behind last night by Yogi Tea:

I’m wondering how my beloved son and heir, Aaron, will feel if I leave nothing behind but love. I think he’ll remember me, no matter what.

Let’s see if this blog post leaves nothing behind but love.

I have nothing but love to leave behind for the Daily Bitch Calendar.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “leave nothing behind but love.”

Besides love, I always try to leave behind gratitude, so thanks to all who help me leave behind a blog post every day, including YOU.

Day 3281: The best present ever

The best present ever, I think, is waking up to another day with people I love. It looks like I’m getting the best present ever again today.

Do you see the best present ever as I present today’s images to you?

It’s a present to me that I’m just now seeing that today is No “L” Day (which I’m presently realizing is a pun). If I had seen that before I started writing today’s blog, I might have felt compelled to leave L’s the hell out.

Instead, I’m leisurely going to lounge around and share the present of this lovely melody on No L day.

Last night I had the best present ever of singing that song together again with family and friends.

I have so much gratitude, here and now, for all the best presents ever, including YOU.

Day 3108: I love a parade

I love a parade and I loved unexpectedly encountering a July 4th parade when I went out for my morning walk yesterday.

Here’s a parade of photos from that parade:

To avoid a parade of questions about this, “SQU” stands for Squantum.

I was told that after the parade, a prize would be given for the best float. I think it’s a toss-up between “The Pandemic Ends” and “Miracle on Squantum.”

Here’s my video from the parade, which I love:

I hope you love this parade of other images from yesterday.

I can’t get enough parades of gratitude, so thanks to all who parade through this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 3003: If you love someone

If you love someone, let them know!

If you love someone, share what you love with them.

If you love someone, share music with them.

If you love someone, invite them to share their thoughts and feelings with you (in a comment, below).

If you love someone, express gratitude to them.

Day 2918: NO

On the first anniversary of my NOtable husband Michael and I saying “YES” in marriage, I am publishing a NO post. Want to kNOw why?

As of this writing, our NOt-too-longer NOxious President has said NO to extending unemployment benefits to millions of people. He has said NO to people in need like NObody else I can remember. I’m so glad we said NO to a second term for him.

Do you NOtice any NOs (or sNOw) in today’s images?

There were NO likes on some of my tweets and NO cilantro on Michael’s Mexican lasagna, but NO worries, regrets, or judgment here.

When Michael and I got married a year ago today, we would have said “NO” if the justice of the peace had asked if we wanted a religious ceremony, but she did NOt ask.

It makes NO difference to me; I would NOt change a thing.

What are your thoughts, feelings, and other NOtions about this NO post? NOte that comments go below.

I’m left with NOthing but gratitude for all the NOurshing blessings in my life, including YOU!
