Day 4713: Stories

Somebody in yesterday’s Coping and Healing group said they wished they had been taught the real story of Thanksgiving when they were in school. In the same group, people also shared stories of their favorite memories of Thanksgiving.

The Thanksgiving stories I told included leaving after the meal to volunteer at a suicide hotline for eight hours, so I could listen to other people’s stories.

What stories do you see in my images for today?

I notice some conflicting stories there; do you?

I keep trying to get my musical stories out there while also staying in the moment.

.

I look forward to any stories you choose to share in the comments section, below.

I give thanks for all who are here for my daily stories, including YOU!

Odd. I’m usually the one full of stories, but I can’t remember a single family Thanksgiving from my years growing up. I know we celebrated, I think we had turkey, I think my Aunt Dee and Uncle Wayne came, because they always did, and I know there was pie. I don’t remember any one particular pie, but I do know I loved them all because once I was on my own I realized that if I wanted pie the way I remembered it, I would have to learn to bake them myself. And I did!

  3. I think every recipe tells a story. Boston cream pie is one of my favorites and now I wonder what the story behind it is.

    • It was invented in 1856 at Boston’s Parker House Hotel by a French Chef, Chris, and there probably is more to the story.

  4. May you appreciate what makes you thankful, Ann.
