Day 3877: Trending Now

What’s trending now, here, includes dealing with the peeling paint on our metal ceiling and preparing for my son Aaron starting a mathematics PhD program in Halifax, Nova Scotia. While people were helping me with both of those issues, I saw this:

.

What’s trending now also includes Climate Change, so I’m writing a song about that.

Do you see what’s trending now in my other images for today?

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “trending now.”

Gratitude is trending now and always here, so thanks to all who help me figure out what’s trending now, including YOU.

  1. bike lanes and roundabouts

  2. I am not a trend seeker these days, Ann.

  3. The last time I followed a trend was when a genuine trend setter convinced me to buy bellbottom jeans. They were fantastic! I was already in the US Army at the time, so joining the US Navy so I could wear bellbottoms all the time was out.

Maybe the moustache came along when that was trendy, but I don’t recall. By the time it bloomed into a full beard, moustaches were out and the beard – grown to hide a scar – came on, beards seemed to be trendy. Of course, the way I grow a beard is more on the order of “Zeke the Trapper”, which is untrimmed and scary-wild-looking, not “Chas the Trendsetter”, which is neater and closely trimmed. All in all, not following trends is OK by me.

  4. Latest trend here in Madison is delightful thunderstorms and so dark this morning that I had to turn the lights on in the kitchen. With the usual caveat that no one is hurt, I intend to enjoy every minute of the day.

  5. The cats are more than adorable and–a PhD! Congrats on that, raising a child with a passion:).

  6. I’ve never been much of a trend follower but it looks like Harley and Joan are showing how far ahead of us cats are in the trend of using solar power.

  7. I love the words to your climate change song. You are so prolific, Ann. I also send congratulations to Aaron for his PhD program. Halifax must feel like a “whole lot” closer to you than Scotland. I would think that feels good to you both.

There are a whole lot of words associated with the state of Georgia that surely must be trending right now. They are for me, anyway!

  8. Are you going to paint the stamped tin on your ceiling or whatever it is? I think with the proper primer, maybe a spray primer, you should be able to paint it quite easily.

    • What’s trending here is Michael stripping the paint from the tin ceiling. We may have to paint it again — we’ll see what’s trending once all the paint is off.
