Day 3784: Awareness

Until today, I wasn’t aware of this amazing quote about awareness:

My awareness tells me there are pros and cons of everything, including empathy.

When a surprising and upsetting poll about the 2024 USA presidential election was brought to my awareness yesterday, it focused my awareness on the negative. However, my awareness that it is now 2023, not 2024, helped broaden my awareness.

Do you see awareness in the rest of my images for today?

.

Because of my family’s awareness of Mother’s Day and also scheduling conflicts for this Sunday, they took me out for dinner last night, but I didn’t have the awareness to take any photos. Instead, I was focusing on the awareness of how lucky I am to have these people I love in my life.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “awareness.”

Since I now have the awareness that it’s Limerick Day (as well as several awareness days), here’s a limerick for you:

A human whose first name is Ann,

Tries to blog every day as she can,

She shares photos and quotes

And sometimes pictures of boats,

And she’s grateful that you’re here again.

Day 3753: Huggable

Last night, after I unexpectedly saw a huggable animal at the end of a difficult day at work, I asked this question on Twitter:

I didn’t hug that huggable kitty who was lounging on the top of a car in the lot where I had parked for my hectic and challenging day at the hospital. However, hanging out with that cat helped me feel more huggable.

I don’t know why human beings often feel less huggable when we are stressed out or in emotional distress — the very times when we would benefit greatly from hugs.

I do know that when I got home from work I asked my husband Michael for a hug, which helped me feel more huggable.

Do you see anything huggable in my other images for today?

No matter how you feel about lawyers, there are many huggable things on that list today, including “Louie Louie” which inspired my huggable son when he was a very huggable 12 year old.

Thanks to all the huggable creatures who help me blog every day, including YOU!

Day 2403: What words stand out for you?

After the Democrat debate last night — which included a lot of words, presidential candidates, and interruptions — I’m wondering what words stand out for you?

What words stand out for you in my photos from yesterday?

My son’s friend Leo (who wrote some stand-out words in this blog post) thinks I’ll stand out if my Fringe poster includes words about my credentials.  I’m still not sure whether I’ll include those words.

When I search YouTube for “What words stand out for you?” this comes up first …

… which reminds me of the misheard words in my son’s video:

These words stand out for me from comedian Peter Kay’s Wikipedia page:

his first semi-professional stand-up appearances were at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he received a prestigious Perrier Award nomination.

Words that stand out for me from my readers’ comments, over the years, tell me that certain wordless pictures stand out, like this one:

What words stand out for me, as I finish this post?  As usual, these words:

Day 54: My son’s birthday

It’s February 23, and my son is turning 15 today.

I’m so grateful he came into my life 15 years ago.

One of my many vivid memories of that day, right after he was born, was re-seeing, re-experiencing and understanding the word “birthday,” in a whole new way.

To celebrate my son’s birthday, I would like to post here, for your entertainment,  a YouTube video he made, several years ago.

I think my son is very creative and funny. And I love showing this video to people because it makes me laugh, every time I watch it, and I think it captures how creative and funny he is — and has been, since he was really young.

I checked with him to see if it was okay if I posted this today and he said it was. (And I showed him this whole post before I published it, too.)

Here’s the YouTube video, called “The Misheard Lyrics of ‘Louie Louie.'”

As I am posting this, it has over 54,000 views on YouTube!

It makes a mother proud.

But not as proud as I am about my son, and the person he is.  And not just on his birthday — every day.

Happy Birthday, Aaron!

Gloopily,

Your mother
